It's Almost Halloween!
4Hiya, creeps! I've been seriously lacking in Halloween focus this week, and I blame....naw, the hell with that!
What I need is to be inundated with Halloween. How are your costumes going? (@cinoclav I'm expecting to hear great things from you!) Going to any fun parties, even as the back end of a horse? I am currently elbow deep in the creation of what will prove to be the most meh Sharknado costume the world will ever see.
Give me your favorite Halloween tunes (even if we have shared some before), your scariest movies (are you a fan of the classics, or more into the current paranormal type movies?). Hell, even your scariest story (real or not).
I'll lead in with the first joke I remember my mom telling me.
Why can't witches have babies?
Because warlocks have Halloweenies!

Man, I'd normally crack out on this thread, but we're going bare minimum this year. Damn baby prep taking up my Halloween energy...
@Thumperchick I expect some epic shit from you guys next year, especially with the little one!
@Thumperchick your uterus has a little person living inside of it and that is pretty spooky tbh (۴ ಠwಠ)۴
@Lotsofgoats it really is freaky. Every once in a while, she'll kick and instead of having that "aww, my baby!" moment, I have the, "Holy shit, there's a WHOLE HUMAN inside of me. WTF is this?!?!?"
I'm apparently a weird pregnant lady for having that...
@jaremelz I hope so! We've had some pretty epic fucking parties here in the past. Picture ~80 people inside and outside, in full costume, all singing Sweet Caroline as loudly and drunkenly as possible, to drown out the terrible person singing karaoke.
That and the golden dinosaur costume prizes...
(ETA - I have some pretty understanding neighbors...)
@Thumperchick Nope, that's normal, healthy pregnant lady thought. She's already got her own schedule for sleep/wake, and just wait until she learns exactly how to bounce on your bladder at 2 AM, 3 AM and 5 AM. Every single night.
Going to Rocky Horror, midnight showing on Halloween.. my one night a year where I dress vampy in public!!
;)
Otherwise, preparations around here are scarce -- two sick kids, along with the rest of my crazy life?? they will be lucky if I don't send them out in jammies as cabbage patch kids!
@mikibell i Actually giggled at that costume idea! I'm sick as is the hubby, plus with my kitty baby getting so sick, it just made things a bit more challenging. Which is why I'm scurrying to finish costumes still.
I saw a creepy movie called "House of 9" (I think that's what it was called), and the movie's ending is very effective- you'll feel exactly what the characters are feeling.
Also, are you handing out full-size candy bars or the "fun" size ones?
@dashcloud You know what sucks? We live on a dead end street with only 3 houses. Never in 7 years have we had a one. Because I would hit Costco for the full size action!
@jaremelz Trick or Treat ! you can send me your full size candy bars : ) Thanks goat
Halloween is tomorrow and I have yet to up up my decorations...
@Bogie We put ours up Friday and they're already down. We actually got 23 kids (sadly most of them got away so we'll still need to go grocery shopping).
Blessed Samhain to you all.
@Cerridwyn
@thismyusername That's Mari Lwyd. You're early. OTOH, a costume is a costume. Maybe I'll check out the clearance sales at the Halloween stores locally.
@OldCatLady WHERE IS MY FOOD?!?!??!?!?!
Just watched Evil Dead II & Army of Darkness.
@dashcloud we went with The Addams Family for tonight.
@Thumperchick We actually ran into an entire family dressed as The Addams Family tonight! They were amazing. They approached me to ask where the best trick or treating was. Guess they felt safe approaching the zombie.
@dashcloud I watched Evil Dead II too! Then we watched Kung Fury (amazing) and Would You Rather (twisted).
@dashcloud We found youtube recordings of the Disney Haunted House sound effects albums, turned down the lights, and played them. Then later we watched Ash vs the Evil Dead, which was groovy...
@duodec Wasn't it great? Perfect way to end the night.
@jaremelz I was breaking up, but my wife was kind of meh about it. I want more!
@duodec I was laughing so hard from the very first scene. It was perfect, in my book. All the right humor, just a bit of well-shown back story, and the gore was great.
