It is my Destiny
7I love this damn game so much. Anyone else still playing Destiny 1? Just got done having the best time. I wish I loved Destiny 2 as much as the first but I just can’t get into it. But D1 is just as much fun as I could possibly have. Got asked blindly to jump into a raid party by a group and when they said hi and heard a woman’s voice I know they were initially scared but Holly fuckballs, it turned into just a great group having so much fun. I’m still riding high so felt the need to crawl out of the darkness here to just jump up and down.

I haven’t played anything online with voice chat in so long.
I never had anyone be scared. They usually were gross or confused and thought I was a boy before puberty.
@RiotDemon lol, that happens way too often when playing with little kids.
@ELUNO that is true, but sadly there was a lot of adults that couldn’t tell. Maybe it’s just my voice in particular.
The kids were definitely bad though, especially when they were hurling out insults when they have hardly any life experiences.
@RiotDemon Yeah, I see a lot of that in the crowds marching around in the streets these days.
@macromeh is it possible for any thread to not become political?
@RiotDemon Sorry, didn’t intend to inject politics - just commenting on similar behavior.
@ELUNO @RiotDemon Hell hath no fury like a grade school kid.
@blaineg @RiotDemon They are very sexually experienced with our moms!
@blaineg @ELUNO @RiotDemon My husband and I got added to someone’s voice party when they were rounding up a raid party. All tweens acting like the rudest little shits ever. We immediately bounced and laughed when they begged us to come back.
@RiotDemon I love it. I was hesitant to get a mic because not only am I female but middle aged. I’ve found that so far no one cares so long as I can play. The guys last night were fantastic and supportive as hell. My friend’s list is everyone from a great young boy who is like a master of the game to older folks. It’s been a blast.
Destiny 2 is on GamePass, so that’s the one I might be playing soon.
I’m the other way around. I wish I could get into Destiny 1 since I love 2 so much. I’ve played so much 2 that I’ve run out of content I haven’t seen (I’ve done every raid and dungeon on top of all the standard content) so I’m just doing triumphs as I wait for new content. Just can’t get into D1 though. It doesn’t feel the same and since I’m a PC player I’ve gotten too tuned in to keyboard+mouse to enjoy playing with a controller. The worst is that I own all the content in D1 and an XBox One to play it on but still just don’t play.
@ExtraMedium I play ps4 and feel the same about pc. I think a lot of it comes down to what you started on! About to spend a little time in two right now though. I love the play just so much crap to have to remember.
I thought I’d played Destiny 2, but when I went to look for it, I could find no trace of it. Not on Steam, not on Origin, not on anything, not even GoG Galaxy (which is wonderful for keeping track of games on most storefronts).
I finally found that I bought it from Battle.net (or is that Blizzard.net?). It was the only place you could get it for PC. And the only reason I’d ever used it. And now it doesn’t exist there.
Apparently it’s gone free to play, and moved to Steam. And I have to move my Battle.net info to Steam. Ok, but now the transfer fails because I don’t have a Bungie.net account. Why would I want one of those?
Is there any reason I should keep going down this rabbit hole instead of just playing some other game?
Or did I accidentally start up Account Management Simulator somehow?
@blaineg Ok Meh, those didn’t really need to be links, but thanks for the help.
@blaineg Consider ignoring the move feature and just giving the game a shot again. Nothing of value will be lost in starting from scratch though the big update that’s about a month away will remove the vast majority of free content to make room for future paid content so if you want to ignore my recommendation that’s also valid.
@ExtraMedium Well, I finally beat the “transfer your account” level. I had to switch to a different browser for some reason. Even with Ublock turned off, Chrome would never let me click the “next” button on Bungie’s site.
Now what was I trying to do?
Lmao. Haven’t played a game requiring voice since l4d2 before the mod servers trashed it. We ran our own teamspeak. Never got into playing with random people.
