Weirder: I'm an Android guy, my brother is a Microsoft guy. He's got the latest and greatest Nokia Windows Phone and just bought that new Fitbit type thing Microsoft released.
I have an iPod Touch, which I keep with me all the time. My phone is Android, and my sweetie's stuff is Android. Don't get us started on OSes, though -- it's a religious war here. I'm unrepentantly Windows, but he absolutely loathes it and is a Unix/Linux/Debian person.
I feel like an Apple Store at times. 5 members of the fam and yet: iPad (orig) iPhone 6 iPhone 5s iPhone 5c iPhone 4s (2x) iPhone 3g iPod touch 4x other non iOS iPods (and a myriad of Macs and a Solaris box).
But they all still work - even the 20Gb iPod from 2003.
@jqubed Short answer: ZFS. Longer answer: Lots of stuff. Including bind, apache, *cough*azureus*cough*, nfs share for video. It was a LOT more useful when my FTTH connection was active, but now I'm wired-internetless waiting for Google to finish installing my (new and improved?) fiber line.
@jqubed But since you probably meant "why in the world are you using Solaris at home?" I'd say because "I like/trust it more than Linux for what I'm doing. And I'm kind of a ZFS (and WAFL) snob."
I read that wrong, and I voted Never IOS, then I woke up a bit and realized my mistake. It always boils down to cost. It seems like I am given a choice of a high cost limited idevice or an android alternative.
Strictly Android. One year, a few people in the family chipped in to get my niece an iPad (because she doesn't know any better ;) ) and I was the one that had to go to the store and buy it. When the salesperson said, "Enjoy your new iPad," I died a little inside.
We're Windows PC users, with a few Macbooks thrown in; and iPhone and iPad lovers, with a few Kindles thrown in.
I was forced to use a variety of Android and Windows phones for a previous job, and I really really didn't like any of them. Yet I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (the 7" tablet thing) when Woot was selling them for $95. I reasoned that as a tech-savvy person I should really give Android another chance and try to acquire at least a passing familiarity with it.
I uh...hated it. Intensely. Guess I'll try to set it up as a wifi picture frame and remember to stick to what I know from now on.
Only one iOS device, my son's iPad 2. I actually gave it to him because I got it free from a previous employer and he seemed to use it more then I did. The rest of the house is a mix of Linux (Ubuntu, Raspbian, Fedora, Kali), OS X (1 Mac), Windows, Roku, Android phones, Fire OS (HDX and FireTV). Android works for me because I can run specific apps from developers not in the app stores. The ecosystem is tweaked and works well together.
Haters gonna hate, what you gonna do? My work machine is a MAC, 3 home Windows computers, I have a Ubuntu file server, raspian on a Raspberry Pi, I use an iPhone, my wife and children use android, I have an iPad and my wife has a Nexus 10. So I think we represent a good range of platforms. Just need to get a blackberry before they go extinct.
I have a COMPLETELY IRRATIONAL hatred of apple. there is absolutely no reason for it, but i would never spend my $$ on an Apple product. my Home PC's have always been Running a Microsoft OS, Currently on my 3rd Smartphone, all android, (still have them all), and My Older Brother Recently Gave me an Android Tablet he hadn't even turned on in 6 months.(Motorola Xyboard 10.1, from Woot little over a year ago)
My Brother (an IT Professional) has Given our Mother 2 Nooks( Nook Color, Nook HD, both run a version of Android), and now 2 Ipad Mini's(the older of which is now going to our Sister) at home he has a mix of Windows PC's, a mac Mini, a couple iPads, and an Android Phone.
in are family we have 2 windows phones nokia 520's, 2 iphone 4s, 1 android tablet, a ipad 2nd gen, and a few older ipod touches a 2nd and 4th gen with broke screens and a ipod 5th gen (NOT TOUCH) so i have a good number of devices i can use on the go even if only a few work right lol.
I hate having to pay the full retail price for something because the company will not allow discounts. I've held off on getting the Bose noise cancelling headsets because of that, and I just do not get Apple.
I do have an iPod, though. Did I break my rule? I did not; my iPod is an HP iPod, discounted through Costco. Apple quickly came to their senses and stopped allowing HP to second-source iPods, but I did get one.

WebOS or die.

I have an iPad. I say its for development.
I use an Android phone and an Android tablet. I have an extra Android tablet or two somewhere. I also have a Windows tablet for Hearthstone.
@ThatPlayer Hearthstone works on your iPad
@Tystix Yeah I got the tablet before that.
I feel like an Apple Store at times.

@bakerzdosen Ironically, when it comes to iOS devices, you are actually one short of a baker's dozen!
@bakerzdosen Why do you have a Solaris box?

Our family has castoff ipads and ipods from donors and androids we bought with our hard earned.
Our house is a mix of Android and iOS
I read that wrong, and I voted Never IOS, then I woke up a bit and realized my mistake.
It always boils down to cost.

each is both good and bad
Old Android tablets make great WiFi picture frames thanks to "DayDream" mode. Android all the way!!!
No option for lowly Windows. Windows Phone, Surface, PC, and 360 over here. No need for platform mixing.
Computers are all MS Windows. Tablets, music players and phones are all iOS. It's just how we roll.
All the mobile devices in my family are iOS. The computers though are a mix of Windows, OS X, and Ubuntu.

We just use sticks in our family. The kids only get twigs until they can prove they are responsible enough for a stick though.

I tried to buy my wife an iPad, she told me send it back and threatened to steal my Nexus if I didn't.

@Tystix My job got me a new BlackBerry this year. If they'd come out with this phone 4 or 5 years ago they'd still be going strong today.

Windows laptop, Surface Pro tablet & Samsung ATIV S Neo Windows Phone. Where's that option?
