Time is linear (but thymes are Lamiaceae), and only moves in one direction. The past is history. (Not to be confused with “History” which is One Direction, but a completely different discussion.)

Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana.
@rtjhnstn I hate bananas. But I love time. Just can’t have enough of it!
@pmarin @rtjhnstn i never have enough of either.

For us humans (and bots) on Earth, basically yes. In the grand scheme of things, definitely not.

I actually hypothesize time is spheric, like a bubble. Ever expanding and never contracting.
To my thinking, time is not so much linear, but rather hyperbolic. Every time there is a commercial, it is full of hyperbole.

@kyeh How about a sine curve? /image sine curve American philosopher George Santayana: “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”
@phendrick and here we are again….
@phendrick I personally like the paraphrase “those who forget the pasta are doomed to reheat it”
@pakopako @phendrick Stealing that.
I feel like time is linear, but space could give us a way to jump around in the line, if that makes sense at all.
@jitc I think it does! See “STEP TWO” in cartoon a few posts up.
Scientifically, time is connected to light, so you can say it’s either sinusoidal, or if basing on earth time, slightly elliptical
