@Kyeh To be fair there’s a pretty high probability it had to do with the packing. Like the time I got a super nice frying pan with the handle sticking out the side of the box.
@sammydog01 I got a nice knife block set once… Block and knives just rattling around willy nilly. I think there were some slits in the box but no blades hanging out.
@Enigma
No, it would say “delivered” if it actually made it to his house. Or to any house - that happens too, they misdeliver stuff, but they do say it’s been delivered in that case.
For me FedEx has generally been much better than UPS. Until lately.
They frequently park stuff at the local warehouse for days, and I had a 2-day work shipment take 11 days. The excuse on the tracking info was a “lost trailer”. I can kind of understand losing a single package, but an entire trailer?
@werehatrack This happened locally a few years ago. The tracks are right next to the FedEx warehouse, so it’s not like they don’t know they are there.
A UTA worker was fired for manually raising the arms without authorization, but I’d still blame the FedEx driver, as you’ve got a clear view of the tracks in both directions.
I ordered something from another company and ended up seeing the same stattus (shipping exception, new label, damaged). Couldn’t get them to deliver or give any other updates. Very sorry for your loss.
Near future: Someone buys a pallet of stuff at auction. It’s detritus collected from the dark corners of Florida shipping facilities. Upon going through it, they wonder why there was a box with a thousand Trackr Pixels and six pairs of neon kids socks, but they’re glad they scored this sweet beige shopping bag. Then they wonder what the soggy box of vinegar at the bottom was. Good thing it didn’t stain that tote bag.
@djslack I’m wearing those neon kids socks right now. I love them. I’ve gotten 2 packs of blue/yellow and 1 pack of blue/orange so I basically wear them every day!
@PooltoyWolf If it makes you feel any better about your loss, you have a much less valuable package headed your way with no tracking information to follow and no way to know when/if it will show up!
I don’t think I’ve received a FedEx ‘SmartPost’ shipment on time from anyone - ever. They’re always between a day and two weeks late. For Meh, I don’t think I’ve seen a package take the same route twice, either.
Sorry but it’s probably on the other side of the country. My last lost FedEx package traveled around for almost two weeks before I was notified it had been delivered. It was. Delivered to Washington state. I live in Tennessee. It even made it to my town twice according to their tracking info.
Sometimes if it’s on a truck, you won’t get an update until it reaches its destination. Also, sometimes packages will sit in the facility for days before they go anywhere. I had someone ship me something from St Louis, and it sat in that facility for 10 days before it headed onto a truck because they were so backed up.
The last 2 times I’ve gotten an IRK the box has been CRUSHED to the point that the tape isn’t even holding the top of the box closed. I’ve been shocked FedEx has delivered them like that, luckily 9/10 the IRK is truly regrettably and nothing in there was harmed… but yours must have really been damaged to get that message.
Why does this NOT Surprised me?? I had ordered a Camera lens off E-Bay. It got to a US Customs site. they help it for 11 days waiting for special paperwork, I believe they though it was lenses for Eyeware. They did NOT open it to see it was a Camera Lens. I had to Call ask what the Hold up was. As they had NOT contacted to or the shipper for the special paperwork. I had to explain to them & sent the product listing from Ebay. after that they hustled & I recived the package in less than 17 hours after the call!
Oh no! FedEx sux.
@Kyeh To be fair there’s a pretty high probability it had to do with the packing. Like the time I got a super nice frying pan with the handle sticking out the side of the box.
@Kyeh @sammydog01 I’d have been amused by that…
@sammydog01 I got a nice knife block set once… Block and knives just rattling around willy nilly. I think there were some slits in the box but no blades hanging out.
Raise hell with them. Make them think you’re expecting something critical. It’s the only way you’ll get resolution
/giphy Oh dear
Make them “think” it’s critical, OF COURSE IT’S CRITICAL!! Lol…
/giphy it’s critical!!
@Lynnerizer It’s irreplaceable!
@blaineg
YES! YES! YES!
Ir-freakin-replaceable!!
@blaineg @Lynnerizer Oh yeah, what’s in it!
I don’t know, but I bet it’s some track’rs and a canvas bag!
Sucks that I have to say anything at all to FedEx, considering it is very literally their job to deliver my packages.
Could it have been delivered and stolen. Fedex sucks delivering by me. they throw your boxes, jump in their truck and take off.
@Enigma

@Enigma I always know when the Chewy order gets delivered. Not by the text message notification but by the loud THUNK sound outside the door

@blaineg
Given the number of shredded FXG trailers I have seen beside the Interstates over the years, I can say for sure that it does happen.

Watch to the 50 second mark for the punchline.
@blaineg @werehatrack
That last entry states the package was damaged and “handling per shipper instructions”. I’d reach out to Meh to see what those instructions were.
@andrewkl “um, whatever, just don’t send it back to us”
@andrewkl I’m confused - how would you even tell if an Irk is damaged?
I ordered something from another company and ended up seeing the same stattus (shipping exception, new label, damaged). Couldn’t get them to deliver or give any other updates. Very sorry for your loss.

@metaphore Hahahaha, that’s poster child Meh
Not a fan of fedex for all the reasons mentioned. Just sayin’

@psbales I initially read that as “they’ve always been a day and two weeks late” which seemed oddly specific

RIP IRK.
About what happened to my first irk. Lucky me they stuffed the damage box inside a new FedEx box and it made it. Swimming in clawz and trackr pixels.
