Wired on the desktop and the big laptop. Wired NES. (formerly) Wired PS3 (it broke). Lots of wireless things, though. Tablet, phone, old phone, older phone, WiFi camera, Sony Dash, Android thumbsticks (makes a dumb TV smart). All in all, I would say wired carries the most traffic.
@lljk NAS. Stupid internets was down at my house and predictive text has its way with whatever I try to type. And I didn't say anything about a giraffe.
The two fast machines in the house have wired connections. Everything else is wireless, except for an XP machine that was last updated in 2007. The XP machine is used for a couple programs from long ago. It has no network at all. I copy data to it with a thumb drive.
I rarely use WiFi. (I don't see any full duplex GigE WiFi yet.) Sure, I use it on phones and tablets, and occasionally on my laptop/netbook, but I ran GigE wired drops to where I normally use my laptop so even it is usually on wire. My streaming appliances are all on wire; even my Nintendo gaming consoles (which don't come with wired Ethernet) are on wire now (lower latency).
We don't have cable anymore, so I'm guessing that most of our network traffic is on our main TV that has a wired Roku 3 attached to it. Every other device is linked via wireless but the amount of video traffic on that Roku probably easily accounts for the majority of the network traffic in our home.
I'd have to check my logs.
Wired. Its secure, reliable, faster, and a lot more consistent. Wifi is there for the phones and when vegging on the couch with a laptop.
I try to wire everything if possible, especially with as much in-house streaming as I do from the server/HTPC
I don't think anything is wired at this point. My husband even bought a bridge thing for the desktop that no one uses.
I think most of my traffic is between the virtual machines running on this one server.
after my 50ft ethernet cable failed, it all wifi all the time

@PocketBrain Wired NES? Hopefully you don't mean wired to the Internet.

I have 2 wired and 8 wireless devices but the wired ones account for at least 80% of the traffic.
Yes
Everything is wireless, which I love except when I have to turn the router off and on again after using the microwave.
Most of the rokus are wireless. As are the ip cameras, so a lot of streaming is wireless. Desktop ,xbox, ooma and other serious stuff is wired.

Wow. Very Graph. Much Logarithm.
@DonberKon Such Doge! Wow!
Wired all the way. Im too paranoid to have a wireless signal. Hence the hat.

I must say - when I saw The Perfect Router for Visiting Meh headline, the image in my head was:
And I thought: You want visitors to show up carrying this? You people are weird!
What is this "wire" that you speak of?
My wife's computer, the game systems, and phones are WiFi. My computer, the server, the Roku, and my Son's computer are all wired.
