@therealjrn When we first moved in to this house I put in a couple of raised beds. I decided to play the long game and used small retaining wall bricks. It was hard work and kind of pricey but they look great and are good for sitting on. Very sturdy and will never rot. I’ve never regretted that decision.
@yakkoTDI I was trying to sneak in a reference connected to mehlachi’s Bugs Bunny comment (doc) with an Elmer Fudd quote.
It would appear I completely missed the mark.
@yakkoTDI I thought VW permanently ditched the Rabbit name after the awfulness of the Mk 1 in so very many ways. (I was in the system back then. I have stories.)
@kuoh Eh. It’s so hard to find decks in the wild here. You might run across the occasional tree stand, but they’re too small to be worth the bother, and anything larger than buckshot wouldn’t leave much worth taking home.
@werehatrack I’m glad I’ve never run into one in the wild, as they sound dangerous. The worst thing I’ve ever encountered was a hungry pergola, and they are mostly vegetarian.
Everytime I see this bloody thread title, I do a double take because my brain never sees deck. It doesn’t help that I have had less than an hour of sleep in the last 36?
This might be the year I finally put in thise raised garden beds I bought a few years ago.

Today was unseasonably warm and dry. Our ducks like the weather no matter what.
It’s Rabbit season.
@yakkoTDI No…It’s duck season, doc.
@yakkoTDI “It’s wabbit season.”
There…fixed it for ya.
@tweezak @yakkoTDI "Duck season."
@tweezak To fix it you would have had to call it Golf season but as it is America got Rabbit season first and fifth.

I tore my deck out nearly 2 years ago.

Since these photos late last summer I have added another tree and a gas fire pit with seating.
@kittykat9180 What kind of trees?
@bee1doll
Sweet treat pluerry and Santa Rosa plum.
I also have 5 autumn sage and 2 rose bushes along the back wall and an ice plant in that lower tier.
Are we having a deck measuring contest here?
KuoH
I’m not sure when deck season is here, but I think there’s a two-deck limit and nothing bigger than 12 gauge allowed.
@rockblossom Aww come on, the fun doesn’t even get started until someone unzips and whips out their 50 BFG.

@kuoh @rockblossom The migratory gazebos are the ones you really have to watch out for. Those suckers are big and heavy, and they’ll sneak up on you.
@werehatrack I’m glad I’ve never run into one in the wild, as they sound dangerous. The worst thing I’ve ever encountered was a hungry pergola, and they are mostly vegetarian.
@rockblossom Careful you do not anger the Gazebo
Almost too hot for deckin’ already.

@sillyheathen Rabbit season!
@werehatrack hunting wabbits?
Scwewy wabbit.
No, it’s ribbet season here…

I DON’T KNOW?!?
