@Dakini I think I am getting the kids to open irk boxes for me from now on.
I don’t want to risk the instant migraines again. . That was horrible.
I could smell the box as soon as I opened my front door… Delivery person must have cursed me, he probably smelled like poo pouri all day afterwards from carrying that package. The box wasn’t taped and was open slightly spreading the scent.
Brought it in,.opened it completely… Bam. Instant “please kill me” head pains. Just an IRK bag (and I think one other item that was so worthless I don’t recall what it was). There might have been more items originally, but since box wasn’t taped there is no way to know.
Had to dump the whole box. Irk bag wasn’t salvageable it was so soaked in poo pouri. I couldn’t wash it because of how that stuff does my head in. No one else wanted to go near it either. Ended up going straight to trash can. (And the garbage men probably cursed us for that).
I will have PTS flashbacks about that box decades from now.
@OnionSoup I feel your misery, however I have to admit I laughed at your story. I love having poo-pourie in the bathroom, I much prefer it to the alternative smells that emanate from that room but I don’t think I would like an IRK bag soaked in the stuff.
My mother gets headaches from strong scents too, so I am sorry you do. We used to do craft faires together and it seemed we always used to get plunked next to some smelly booth.
@Dakini yeah, I can’t go to those craft shows anymore. Between the candles, the soaps and the perfume sections it kills me. Used to go with wife to them.
It’s not all scents, only some trigger it… And I actually like some of the scents that trigger it… Like cinnamon is the worst. In autumn when stores out out those cinnamon brooms at the entryway… I have to stop shopping at Publix when those come out because I can’t walk in without getting a migraine.
I like the smell of cinnamon, but when it’s strong it kills me.
