And my IRK-hunting days may be over; the Cuisinathon was about as interesting as an HOA board meeting, and the new ten-buck price coupled with the difficulty of acquisition and the uncertainty of receiving anything that won’t end up as a donation just makes the whole concept a lot less appealing.

That said, I am OK with the idea of paying $10.00 for an Irk. For me there are two key components.
First the thrill of the hunt. Will I be lucky enough to score one? When it does arrive it is like Christmas morning. What will I get, what did the Meh overlords send?!?!?
Second the actual score itself. I would say that in the recent past the quality of items has improved. It has been a long while since I have received a box that contained damaged/broken items. And in general I always know someone who can use everything in the box.
As far as the cost of shipping, the buyer has the choice of paying for a membership to secure free membership or to take the hit on every purchase. I have paid far more than $5.00 for shipping on other sites.
I think I still have one and my shirt coupon too. I need to use that.
