And the ghostly baby arms are there... spooky. Was actually needing a wireless keyboard with pointing device built in, with a small footprint, for working on PCs, but not a bluetooth one. Meh.. guess I have to wait for that track ball one I should have jumped on to come back up.
Gotta pass.. Have three of these (types of) puppies and only two hands. Good price though. Mehgacrap! Now I'll have to wait till tomorrow to flush my hard-earned cash. Tempt me better.
I'd been waiting for a low-energy Bluetooth keyboard, but the trackpad, even if it's not very good (dare we say, mediocre?), pushed me over the edge. Now let me get some AA batteries while I'm a VMP!
Really meh price on this one. You can find ref. Logitech K400 for roughly 20 bux, which is much better in everything, especially SmartTV or HTPC setups. Last BF I bought K400 for 15 bux shipped new at Staples. Only exception is if you want to use huge and ugly KB with your tablet or phone. Then this is the right choice.
@wishod Not the same technology. The one offered by Meh is bluetooth and the K400 uses a proprietary Logitech dongle so you cannot use that keyboard for bluetooth compatible things like phones and tablets. The bluetooth one can pair with 6 devices and the K400 would require that you have 6 dongles to do the same thing (but who knows what would happen if you actually did that).
@cengland0 Knowing that, I mentioned tablets and phones as possible use for it. But you can find alot of smaller and equally shitty BT keyboards for 20 or less on the market.
@wishod How would I connect that K400 dongle to my phone? My phone and tablets have bluetooth built in but neither of them have a USB port that can support the dongle. I could probably get some weird OTG cable I doubt that will work and if I have to get that cable, I may as well just connect up a wired keyboard.
@cengland0 You know, English in not my native, but if you can read my first message again, it's clearly understandable, that I mentioned phones and tablets as a sole use for IOGEAR keyboard, not the Logitech one.
@s6726584 Go to the home page, click on "My Orders," find the item in your list of items you ordered and then click on the Cancel button. If it's not there, you exceeded the grace period to cancel. @Mobilespies As I have both a VMP membership and Amazon Prime, shipping is no additional cost either way. I bought 2 here for $30. This give me one to use and a spare. This saves me $8.57 over the Amazon price, and I have way better than a warranty. In the unlikely event that I have a problem, I can swap in the replacement in just a few minutes. It would still be a win if I had to pay for VMP with this purchase.
Cool with this product, I can use just one keyboard for all the phones and tablets and not have to continuously pair and unpair the Bluetooth keyboards. I will have to label them 1 through 6 to keep track of which device is on which key.
There are really 6 Android devices. The Nexus 5 I used to take the picture is not visible. There are also a couple computers out of the picture, so there are keyboards all over the place.
No, I don't really own all of those tablets. Some belong to my employer. I'm writing software so they can be used as realtime displays for an embedded system. A webserver written in Python talks to the data logger over Bluetooth and produces pretty gauges and charts in HTML to display locally through a webview and remotely via standard web browsers. I'm trying to get the worst case latency down to 150ms from a data change to the gauge updating on the display.
We chose to use the Nexus 7 2013 for the initial version, but the Nexus 5's are adequate for development.
Got mine yesterday. Really disappointed. The final assembly of the product is off such that the bottom edge of the spacebar key sits above the raised edge of the shiny black surround. So, you can't push the spacebar normally (since the surround is underneath it), and if you do manage to push it down, it gets stuck and won't pop back up. I'll have to disassemble this later to see if I can fix it. Ugh.
@jtinstman I unpacked my three today. Indeed the main key assemblies are not precisely aligned with the cases. They are in quite visibly different positions. I was lucky, all mine were close enoughed to centered to not have a problem.
I bought 3 of these. Does anyone know of an easy way to give them unique Bluetooth names? They all show up as "GKM611B". My classic Linux devices (laptops, Raspberry Pis, etc...) conveniently also show the Bluetooth addresses, such as "00:18:A3:04:EC:7E". The Android devices (also Linux, but not classic), show the address only until they figure out the name.
What I've been doing is using the "Rename" option on the Bluetooth page of each Android device to locally rename the keyboards to include last 2 digits of the serial number. So the above keyboard becomes "GKM611B 7E". I also used a label maker to label the keyboards themselves.
I suspect that I'm the only one on this forum who suffers from losing track of which keyboard is which. It's not that I type on two devices at once, I have a coworker. Sometimes we both need to use Bluetooth keyboards at the same time.
Also, the trackpad stopped working on one of the keyboards. Could I have turned it off by mistake, or did it die? I haven't tried a full reset yet, because that would involve pairing it with all of the devices again.
The touchpad needs fresher batteries than the keyboard.
I've been getting "Mouse Battery Low" notifications for many weeks, but the keyboard only started flashing its blue light today. Fresh batteries seems to have made both portions happy.
The independent low battery indicators implies that the keyboard and touchpad controller electronics are also used in standalone devices. I wondered why they used such different techniques, and then I googled "mouse battery low". The first page of hits are people asking how to disable the notice. I suspect that the keyboard folks opted for using the LED, because people hate the notifications.

Meh
Finally a use for all of my AA batteries!
@jjohns71 ... after the ones that are included run out
I bought the non-BT wireless keyboard last time, so I say MEH to this one.
Meh. Not big on the bluetoof. Pass.
Meh!!
@foodog I love that movie.
Ghostly baby arms...
Nice grillz, Meh!
You know what would have been really cool? If you clicked on the red X on the treasure map and it offered another deal....just sayin'
@somf69 NO!! Not like that other site. One deal, one day...keep it that way, it's part of the magic!
@beachhead Normally I'd agree with you, but if it's a fuku, I approve.
@TBoneZeOriginal that's what I was going for
Baby arms. No purple. Meh.
@heartny not just baby arms........GHOST BABY ARMS!!!
@somf69 Casper baby arms
@heartny @somf69 double baby arm(s)
@jqubed All the way? OMG!
I love purple.
That Trackpad is quite small...
I find these to work great with HTPCs...
And the ghostly baby arms are there... spooky. Was actually needing a wireless keyboard with pointing device built in, with a small footprint, for working on PCs, but not a bluetooth one. Meh.. guess I have to wait for that track ball one I should have jumped on to come back up.
If it was a more compact design... perfect to control and search on the Hopper. Too big to hang around the living room though.
Gotta pass.. Have three of these (types of) puppies and only two hands. Good price though. Mehgacrap! Now I'll have to wait till tomorrow to flush my hard-earned cash. Tempt me better.
does it come with a bluetooth dongle or what ever? Just asking, not worried they are cheap and I might have one
@Foxborn according to the product page on amazon it doesn't
No keypad so it's a no go.
Hmm, I want this but it seems a little big to toss in the ol' knapsack. Can anyone vouch for its (non)portability?
best meh face in a while
what were the prices on the previous models?
I'd been waiting for a low-energy Bluetooth keyboard, but the trackpad, even if it's not very good (dare we say, mediocre?), pushed me over the edge. Now let me get some AA batteries while I'm a VMP!

Strong, boisterously certain and adamant meh.
Refurbished??? That's dirty; I'm not going to jeopardize the purity of my precious bodily fluids. Nice try Dastardly Singing Cowboy; I’m on to you…
Meh. Wish it was white. My eyes have problems with black keyboards...I hope that doesn't sound racist.
@Kerig3
I love purple.

30 day warranty and new for just $20 more ($5 shipping here)? Pass.
@Mobilespies just $20 more? As in twice our price including shipping?
@JonT So when it breaks in 31 days.......nevermind.

Almost went for it, but personally I can't stand that huge Enter key, I prefer a "one row" Enter key that has the backslash above it.
Ugh, seeing that pirate map brought back painful memories of woot's Crapbeard's Treasure hunt. God, what a fucking nightmare that was.
i'm going to be overflowing in keyboards and things soon.
That's alright, though, I guess.
How about a multi-link bluetooth mouse now?
Is it just me or does it look like the path on the treasure map takes a detour around a giant baby arm after landfall?

No Georgia Red. . . for that alone, meh.
Free Gurley.
I love purple.
@jrwofuga Neither Pumpkin color... meh.
@unixrab
@unixrab You should probably clean your keyboard.

Image search from order number:
Finally got around to unwrapping and installing this. Works great. Weird having a touchpad on a keyboard without it being at the bottom, but ok.
The batteries that came with it were completely dead.
The touchpad needs fresher batteries than the keyboard.

I like purple.
@Barney goats don't like purple... I'm sorry. only Dinosaurs
