@AttyVette I always thought that… no matter how worthless these are, you’re getting stuff that was at least $5 to someone… somewhere… at some period of time.
@Lynnerizer
What really sucked me in was when they said it’s like getting the IRK free because of the $5 coupons. Yup, bought that bit of BS hook, line and sinker!
And besides that, I’m still thinking the warehouse workers are going to hook us up with some REALLY nice IRKS! It’s not like they’re banned from seeing what goes on here! Right?
@IAMIS Did you read the front page? All IRKs don’t care how much you paid for it, they just grab random stuff in the warehouse. The $500 would be the same as the $5 one.
@IAMIS Explicitly, YES. In fact, the warehouse crew will have no idea how much you did or didn’t spend. They just slap a random IRK-order label on a random IRK box, and off it goes. The only thing that the higher price does is increase the number of things you have to buy later in order to amortize the investment.
@zacks Well, in theory they’re only paying the tax (and maybe shipping) on these, and prepaying $40 on their next 8 orders.
In practice, I’m not confident that I’ll actually make 8 orders by the end of the year. It looks like I average around 2 per month, but I’ve been trying to slow down a little. So I stopped trying for IRKs today at $30.
If everyone would now STOP buying the Irks at the inflated prices then they would stop increasing them $5 every time. Maybe then they will go back down to a reasonable level of cost as apparently the skies the limit today!
@AttyVette You assume that they haven’t got all of the listings preprogrammed already, complete with derisive taunts and other commentary as the tab gets ever higher.
@AttyVette I don’t think people will stop buying even at these prices. Psychology doesn’t work that way.
Have you ever been to an in-person auction? (For an example of non-rational behavior.)
@AttyVette@FreePasta I expect if people stop buying at the higher prices they will just ship fewer irks. Personally I want to see where this is heading. LET’S HIT A THOUSAND DOLLARS GUYS!

$40… do I hear $45?
@crow oh you’ll hear $50 and higher still
@crow Sure seems like it.
It’s all Putin’s fault!
I need to stop. This is my 3rd IRK today.
@shiranissosexy specially since your $40 irk will be worth $2 — maybe
@shiranissosexy So, how many $5 coupons will you now have? You must buy a LOT of earbuds from Meh. LOL.
@AttyVette I always thought that… no matter how worthless these are, you’re getting stuff that was at least $5 to someone… somewhere… at some period of time.
that was fast, especially for 40 clams
49 people bought at $40 dollars !! Wow crazy prices still going up !
@AttyVette
It was 50 at one point.
@AttyVette @FreePasta people cancelling.

IRKin’ eh
Never been so happy to see the “oops, we sold out” after the green bar. Dis too much.
No fair. Already sold out twice. I’m thinking it’s not real now.
@vailen “Already sold out twice.” ??
This is the eighth IRK of the day, and all sold out.
How many children do you have? Are you sure? Better go count them again.
$40 was my limit

Sigh.
/giphy overjoyed-barbarous-load
Do they put the same thing in the $40 one that they put in the $10 one?
@IAMIS That’s what their writeup says. Today is an experiment.
@IAMIS Did you read the front page? All IRKs don’t care how much you paid for it, they just grab random stuff in the warehouse. The $500 would be the same as the $5 one.
@IAMIS
To quote from the item page:
Yes, we are charging a lot more money for these IRKs than we usually do
No, that does not mean they’ll be any better than our standard IRKs
Seriously, there is no correlation between the price you pay for these IRKs and the quality of the stuff inside them
@IAMIS Explicitly, YES. In fact, the warehouse crew will have no idea how much you did or didn’t spend. They just slap a random IRK-order label on a random IRK box, and off it goes. @D_a_v_e @IAMIS [Let Me Read That For You.]
Newp
I cant believe people are paying $40 for these
@zacks 'SOK, they’ll be forking over $50 next round.
@zacks Well, in theory they’re only paying the tax (and maybe shipping) on these, and prepaying $40 on their next 8 orders.

Dear Bots, BeeBoop BeeBoop… please let me waste my money in peace.

@AttyVette
But the rollover every 30 minutes would still happen.
No?

@FreePasta rollover would still happen but if no one buys— that would be interesting to watch play out for their “experiment “.
I heard that Biden is planning on calling on Congress to suspend the IRK tax for three months.
I wonder if they are doing this to get rid of the bags. Possibly for a newly designed bag?
@JT954 Nah, we’ve already suggested many times that they just sell the bags themselves one day, but it’s never happened.
Fun experiment on inflation happening before your eyes.
