I'm not able to use my crayons!!
1If you want to post something like say on fb or here and it has some personal info. that you don’t want to be public, how do you scratch over it. I’ve seen it done all the time. I’m using my LG II tablet that I bought from meh 2 yrs ago. In terms that a 4 year old would understand, how do I do it guys and gals.

I don’t use Android so I can’t be 100% but it looks like you’ll need an app for that. There is a Reddit thread here that has a couple app suggestions.
@Ignorant Thanks, if push comes to shove I’ll have to try an app. There’s so many functions with my tablet that I thought maybe it was already capable.
@growyoungagain hopefully an Android user will let you know for sure. It was built in native to iOS 1 or 2 versions back, so maybe there is something native for Android now.
Probably not the same version, but in my Google Photos app, I can click the sliders when viewing an image to edit then click the icon on the right that has 9 little squares. I them can choose Markup. Not sure if that is part of the photos app or a standalone app…
@medz I didn’t find that in mine.
@RiotDemon Google says it’s an Android Pie thing. I somehow got a free copy of PicSay Pro and that can do it too. Free version probably good enough.
@medz my google photos does’nt have those functions. After trying to figure it out for most of 7 hrs I downloaded google free, than I had to figure that out.I figured it out after much trial anf error.
There are a few ways to obscure information in pictures. Most Android devices will allow you to edit photos, usually via an ‘Edit’ option somewhere when viewing photos (usually either at the bottom of the screen or in a drop-down menu at the top corner). You may also be able to cover up the info within your social media app. I know Twitter allows the use of ‘stickers’ that you can apply over photos, which can be used to hide things in pictures. Some users are able to extract raw photo data and see under these, however. The best course of action is to censor the image before uploading it.
It depends on what you have loaded on your tablet – but since you mentioned FB – I use fb messenger, and pretend like I am going to send someone a message with an image.
So:
When in a message (I always do this with someone I trust, in case I hit send by accident. My kids just shake their heads at me. ),click the picture icon. This should show you your gallery.
Find the picture you want, click on it, and a pencil appears. You are now in edit mode.
On the top right you should see Aa and a squiggly line. Click the squiggly line to get color choices – I use the rainbow color
because I am silly.
Color over whatever you want to redact. When you are done, click the check box in the upper right hand side to accept your changes.
If it isn’t quite right, go back to 3.
Click the save button. It should save to your gallery and you can upload as normal.
May be more than a 4 year old can do, but it is how I make this disappear on my LG phone.
