@jst1ofknd God bless you!!! Loved my days in cub scouts, was soooo glad when he made it to scouts, though! Now my girl is in venturing… And they allll end up at the same camporees! Love the weekends without hubby, son AND daughter!
@jst1ofknd scouts is in 2019, she is thinking about it… I think she would like to get her eagle, but we shall see. She likes the coed mix of venturing, bs would be girls only …
I’m the Cubmaster of my son’s pack. Why not end your boredom by participating as a leader? I know I would appreciate more parents helping out. I literally can’t get anyone to help with anything. The sucky part is, I did this to spend more time with my kid… And I end up working on stuff so much that I don’t get to spend much of my time with him
I did the Cubmaster thing before. Got burned out at the pack I was at. Pack died due to lack of support from the church where we met after the gay leader decision (sad that, the pack was around for 55 years).
While I understand all to well about the lack of parental involvement, I’m just not interested in being a leader at the moment.
@jst1ofknd do you live near me??? Our pack just died out after 65 years … from lack of church support – I think for the same reason, but I am not sure.
I remember girl scouts as basically learning fun stuff like knots and fires and crafts and then eating cookies.
I want adult scouts where you meet up with friends do a craft or learn survival skills and then have cookies.
Hey! This site I visit is selling fidget spinner boredom busters! You might want to check them out for next time! https://meh.com
/giphy see what I did there
This usually does the trick for me:
@PHRoG
Didn’t work for me. I don’t understand reddit.
Scouts is over, but you can keep amusing me.
@jst1ofknd So what you really mean is…
Girl scouts, cub scouts, boy scouts, venture scouts? Yes, they are alllllll boring, but some more than others have way too many years of boredom.
@mikibell
Boy and cub. The good thing is get both done at same time.

Now both boys and girls can join cub and boy scouts.

I’m sure it’s been a problem nationwide… But that doesn’t mean we don’t live nearby. Are you in the greater OKC area?
@jst1ofknd nope… I am in the lovely northeast
@jst1ofknd What’s so great about OKC?
@therealjrn
The best answer I can give is that it’s the place I call home. I’ve got roots here.

@CaptAmehrican
That sounds like the PnP Dungeons & Dragons group we used to have back in the day
