@Kyeh
I’m flattered!
But really, I think you will enjoy it. I even was hoping for one during a mehrathon to order for my daughter (who has pets) as a Christmas present. I finally gave up and ordered it from SideDeal on THURSDAY! Bottom line was about $10 more than I paid for mine, due to the VMP discount. Still worth it I believe.
As it was, I had my ass handed to me at work all shift yesterday so didn’t keep up with any of the sales, and this one was when I was showering and then driving to work. So… meh.
@chienfou I’m sorry about your rough day at work - are you getting swamped again by Covid, or is it just all the usual ER stuff?
My one concern about the vacuum is whether it will handle my carpet okay - it’s low-pile but not the lowest. My cat sheds like crazy so it would be nice if it worked. If not, I guess my sister will get a good Christmas present. She has two dogs, so she can use it!
@Kyeh
yeah, we don’t have any animals in the house ( well…except the feral dust bunnies under the beds…) and it did quick work with those.
My kitchen/dining area has worked out great, even with 6 chairs, 3 barstools and an island… and a step down to the living room (which it has yet to plunge off of).
I used it on both floors of the 16x16 pool house after the kids/grands left with their labradoodle last week and it did great. BUT… none of that is on carpet. I haven’t let it loose in the guest room which is the only room we have with (berber) carpet due to SWMBOs allergies (that’s also why no pets). Maybe I can do that next week.
As for work, yep. COVID is kicking our tails. We had 5 positive pts in an 8 hour shift (out of maybe 12 pts), admitted a couple after multiple hours in the ER. None of the larger local hospitals have any beds, EMS is having trouble getting anyone to accept their patients. I have a friend who told me one of his family members was in the ER for 7 days waiting to have a regular bed. It’s a giant cluster-f*ck.
@chienfou Oh, man - that’s terrible. Things seemed so hopeful for a little while there. I don’t know how you medical pros can keep being so dedicated; I don’t think I could handle it. You have my utmost admiration!
@Kyeh
Hey there. Just thought I’d reach out to see what you thought of your vac… I’m trying not to stress over my endorsement causing you to make a choice that didn’t work out for you…
/eightball is that true?
Outlook not so good
@chienfou Uhhh, well, I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t tried it out yet. I figure if it ends up not working for me I can give it to my mother, because her carpet is lower pile than mine. I’ll let you know when I’ve tried it!
@Kyeh
no sweat. I have ahem… cough, cough… a few things around that came from meh that have either never been unpacked or only used once or twice as well.
@chienfou I actually have 2 that I bought a while back and haven’t installed, because I wasn’t sure how (one has the hot water option and both toilets are far from the sinks.)
but I suddenly realized the other day that one of the toilets is right next to the plumbing for the shower/bath! Duh! So that’s where the hot water one will go, and it ought to be a cinch to install.
@Kyeh
Only problem is how long does it take hot water to get to your shower? It will take that long (and more) to get to your bum. The feeder tube for your toilet is gonna be smaller than your shower piping. I guess you could just run the hot water up to the shower (or sink) before you need to use your bidet, but that seems both wasteful and a bit of a PITA.
@Kyeh
That’s always been my issue with the hot water ones… Unless you circulate your house water at the time, it takes a while for it to get from the heater to the bidet in most bathrooms. By then you are done…
@chienfou A friend of mine has the Tushy model with hot water hooked up to his sink, and he also has one of those little under-the-sink generators to heat the water faster. It works for him. I’m going to ask him to help with this. Eventually.

Sweet Hay-zeus, me so happy to buy a second one. Loves me my 1st one and I need one for every house!
@jquebby Must be nice to have more than one house, unless we’re just referring to a double wide.
KuoH
@kuoh I’m sorry, I don’t even know what you mean by a double wide. And doesn’t everybody have more than one house???
@jquebby double wide trailer.
Do tell. A pro-biotic vac?
This sucks

@chienfou I’m taking a chance on this based on your glowing review from the last time it sold!

@chienfou No, still waiting.
@Kyeh
The one I bought my daughter from side deal should be arriving any day now. Hope yours gets there and works out well for your surfaces!
@chienfou Me too!

@Kyeh
giphy really came thru on that one!
@chienfou Wow, yes! And ahem I do have a few other unopened or not-yet-used items myself.
@Kyeh
Somewhere I have a basic, no-frills, bidet from an IRK that I have been meaning to install… ummm…some day…

@chienfou How is it usually hooked up to hot water?

Does it use virtual walls or magnetic boundaries or anything to contain it to a single room?
@ACraigL No.
@ACraigL @haydesigner
no, just bump and turn and IR sensors for edges and steps. Still, it did a good job IMHO.
