1x iHome LED Table Lamp With Flex Neck and Wireless Charger
@ManBehindPlan Is this now leaning towards a car commercial or a dome light? What was this about again…oh yeah a lamp. At least its not a speaker, battery or the dreaded mutated grill glove endorsed by the creator.
@ManBehindPlan Probably not a bad option for that. The LEDs look diffuesed, and the light is dimmable. The only thing that might hold me up from using it for that is the color of the LEDs, they say “white” but we all know the temperature of the white can be cool or warm. They don’t state the LED’s temperature.
I was just looking for one of these and this is a great price, but I was hoping for one of those with multiple shades of white and a dimmer — neither of which this model has.
Anyone have a lamp with those modes? Is it worth it, or should I go with this one? Would love to hear people’s thoughts. I bet that LED disc is more annoying than other types.
@Fe2_O3 In the specs (next to last bullet), it says: “Tap the touch-sensitive control to easily turn the lamp on and off, or hold it to dim or brighten the light to just the right level.“
That made me think that you can adjust the brightness/dim it by holding it down. (I’m also looking for an adjustable LED.)
@Fe2_O3 You are actually interested in buying this? For what your dorm, apartment or cubicle. I know that this rubbish would look out of place in my home on my nightstand. We have a 3k bedroom suite and i know there’s definitely more pricier furniture. I personally would never think of buying it than again im not a millennial. I grew up on Atari not Halo.
@Fe2_O3@whomeyesu Dude (EDIT I mean “whom” guy) I don’t even know how to interpret your response. I’m not sure if you are trolling. So I will ignore it.
Original question guy: yes, you do want dimming. This seems to have it but not confirmed. I don’t know about “LED Disc,” unless you see it in person you can’t really tell if it is OK for you or not. I have bought LED shop-lights that are fine, and others that have piercing bright LED spots that blink at 30 or 60Hz, so if you move your eyes quickly, you can see the flicker and it’s a disturbing strobe effect. This really depends on the circuits driving the LEDs, and as I said there is no way to tell for sure until you use the light yourself or get a reliable review from a user.
@Fe2_O3@pmarin Well I will not ignore it. @whomeyesu if you work at it, you can belittle a few more groups while this tread is still active. You already have college students, apartment dwellers, low/mid-level office workers, people who cannot afford a $3K bedroom suite, millennials, and people who grew up on the Halo series. That still leaves a few people out, including me. Surely you can do better.
@Fe2_O3@pmarin@ThunderChicken oh gosh i really didn’t intend to belittle anyone. I was simply starting that this 11" lamp should actually be a magnifier and used as such. Adding a charging plate to a magnifier is a good idea for a shop. Yet, the intention to place this actual led lamp in my bedroom on my night stand while I read a book is bullshit. Removing the 36" lamp that is currently there to replace it with this. Doubtful and if you were insulted by any of my previous comments good my job is done.
@Fe2_O3@tartanknickers, I can’t understand how you didn’t miss it before you had it! If you didn’t, then why did you get one¿? I don’t get it,…or maybe I do & just don’t know it, unless I don’t know & just think I do, or does!!
@decoratedwarvet@Fe2_O3@pmarin@ThunderChicken I had no idea meh is full of such bizarre bickering. I must ask myself why should i even think i could get through to these people. They are obviously set in their ways blinded by the white light emited from there newly acquired 11" lamp/charger.
@mehvid1…exactly in a 3 pack with two multiple color combinations and due to demand you will receive one of each color. The kicker priced to sell accordingly retail $42.97 meh price $18.99.
@patbarrett1 It’s rated at 2.25 YEARS of continuous use - how is it anywhere near the end of its lifespan?
(particularly given the average use of an hour a day)
@patbarrett1 Just to clarify, LEDs technically do not “burn out” and the numbers usually specified like 10000 hours are based on some statistical information and that’s about the max those statistics cover. An LED might work fine for 20 years or more continuously; unlike a “filament” there is no metal component that “burns off” due to heat, like in an incandescent bulb.
However, and I’ve seen this in home LED bulbs quite a bit, the electronics that drive the LED are prone to failure. This was especially true in the early days of LED bulbs, or in the “bargain” ones. There is basically a “power supply” that converts the incoming power to something appropriate to drive the LED. It has components like capacitors that can degrade over time, just like in a computer power supply. So when an LED lamp does “go out” it’s almost always the power supply, usually a tiny circuit board somewhere in the lamp. It’s almost never the LED part itself, because really, that part doesn’t care how long it’s been on.
@Chronicle Yeah I’d like to know too. I bought two floor-lamps this year (mystery brand Chinese products) and both had a color temperature button, which was nice. I found l liked the “warm” temp (low K) mostly for pleasant background. Also the one that will not wake you up so much – the bluish “daylight” ones are good for serious work and stuff, though. It was nice having a button for that and I think a lot of new stuff will go that way. The two I bought were different companies with different mechanical stands and shape but both buttons worked the same way – I suspect there is one “LED driver” chip that is probably used in a lot of products now. If I didn’t need a desk lamp now (which I don’t), I’d probably wait for one with that selectable color-temp (K) feature.
In the specifications it states “cool white”… so it could be anywhere from 4000k to 6000k… If that helps answer your question. It also states it is dimmable…
@whomeyesu I truly believe that I meant to say, “pissant.” Wikipedia shares with us that, “A pissant, also seen as piss ant or piss-ant, refers to a specific type of ant. The word is also used as a pejorative noun or adjective, indicating insignificance.” Granted, that is Wikipedia. You can find it here, too: pissant. I didn’t recognize or understand your, “thou,” reference. I’m open to learning. In any case, thanks for sharing.
Cheers
I just can’t see the light!! Damn,… what time is it,… I’m still fuckin quarintined & my power’s off,…no, wait, it’s back on!! Hell maybe I do have Sars CoV-2, or worse…
Just got mine but it will not charge my pixel, pixel 3 or pixel 4. Not sure if its defective or does not like pixel phones. Anyone have a similar issue?

Ehh, cool.

When did it become “Chee” and not “key”?
@fuzzmanmatt English is not an elegant language.
@fuzzmanmatt
The actual word is “Qi” so … Pronounce it how ever you like.
@fuzzmanmatt cue eye is how i pronounce it

@Fe2_O3 I have one with the dimmer and different light modes, and I reeeaaally like it. The thing is, I didn’t miss what I didn’t have before.

@Fe2_O3 @yougotrossed the only detail missing is the “white” light temperature, cool or warm whites are very different.

@mehvid1 well, it does come with the anti-seismic cushion, too!!!
@mehvid1, I’ll bet my nx stimulus check!!
Does the charger work with the light turned off? Enlightened bedsides want to know.
@hchavers, awe, go to sleep
!!
I bet the replacement bulb is expensive and hard to find, and maybe nearly at the end of its lifespan.

My son just got a new desk, oddly enough this purchase seems to make sense for me lol.
Bizarre purchase reference though

Can we please get a color temperature spec of the “white” light?
@Chronicle Yeah I’d like to know too. I bought two floor-lamps this year (mystery brand Chinese products) and both had a color temperature button, which was nice. Almost as good as this one with more features for 5 bucks less. Also from iHome. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07PB1L1D1
@dgmshop Hey thanks for the recommendation. I always get a lot of good info from the Meh forums.
(Except that post from @whomeyesu - jeez. Suddenly I’m reviewing the significance of my pissant life.)
Anywho, the other lamp looks like a decent alternative. The brand is listed as SOMKN though, in case that’s helpful for anyone looking. Regards.
@dgmshop @SscoootzZ @whomeyesu Never heard of SOMKTN, but they do have “Eye-caring table lamps,” which is nice!
@dgmshop But questions like this in their product description- “Do you feel disturbed due of the dark lights at night?”- make me fear for my sanity…
@SscoootzZ I am true to believe you meant to say peasant. Thou shall not judge thee before absorbing complete reconcile foe ones total existence.
@whomeyesu I truly believe that I meant to say, “pissant.” Wikipedia shares with us that, “A pissant, also seen as piss ant or piss-ant, refers to a specific type of ant. @dgmshop @pmarin @whomeyesu Thanks for catching my spelling, @pmarin. Keep me honest. “Eye-caring” does sound nice, too.
The manual says that when charging with the qi pad, a the led indicator light will turn a solid blue.
I don’t seem to even have an led indicator light. there is nothing blue when using the charger.
this is actually a big deal because with a case on the phone there is no way to confirm it is charging.
I LOVE this lamp!! I’d also love to buy another one for my spouse’s side of the bed. Is that even possible? Please let me know if there is
@Dorenem It is still available at MorningSave.com, which is Meh’s sister site.
(Click on the picture and it will take you to the site.)
Customer service has not contacted me. This light does not work, and I am able to use it. How can it be returned?
Hi @Caryn if you’ve already written to support then be sure to check your tickets page for updates in case email replies are being filtered to a spam folder.
It doesn’t work with Apple watch. A bit disappointing. My wife loves the pink color.
