"I think we're done flying for the day. We're out of props and... I think we have a few other problems".
Ya, like the nut holding the transmitter is cracked a little?
@garyhgaryh, that thing was pretty quick before he introduced it to the fence. I wonder how the performance of your P3 compares?
Hard to imagine, as fast as the P4 is, Solo is 25% faster in horizontal flight and 40% faster ascent speed. I haven't had the nerve to turn off Solo's speed governor yet. I want to get in at least a couple more flights before sending it into a fiery heap on the ground.
@ruouttaurmind I'll get in trouble if I go fast. Solo is a beast!
At the beg of the video he tells his audience the sensors are only for the front so you can't go backwards or sideways (something to that effect). He ends up crashing the drone backwards. Does he even remember what he said? Did he even think the phantom would not break if backed into a fence full throttle esp since the sonar to detect obstacles is in the front?
@sportykev Oh, he was going forward alright. But he was in "Sport" mode, which disables most of the P4 safety net, including obstacle avoidance. I'm not so sure obstacle avoidance would work with the fence anyway?
@ruouttaurmind I think the guy actually flew it backwards (correct me if I'm wrong). Yes, in manual or sports mode it wouldn't matter. He did show that the obstacle avoidance did work on a fence (going fwd). I didn't think it would, but the p4 stopped.
@garyhgaryh Your Honor, forensic examination of the video yields the following evidence which I humbly present to the esteemed members of the jury:
This frame was taken as the defendant began his hellbent acceleration toward disaster...
Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury, you can clearly see the lens of this... this demon machine, this spawn of engineering that can only be the work of Lucifer himself! The lens is facing... FORWARD Your Honor! Forward, staring into imminent destruction like the Eye of Sauron peering into the depths of Hades itself!
If that's not damning enough Ladies and Gentlemen, when we survey the decayed and rotting carcass of this... this DEVILS WORK, well, you're all intelligent people. Of course you've already noticed the damage to this product of evil is contained primarily to the forward portion of the machine!
Your Honor, members of the jury, I humbly, and gratefully rest my case.
Some people have more money than sense.

Wow, some serious tilt. What made him think that obstacle avoidance would work going backwards?!!? Thing doesn't have sonar, jeez

@sportykev exactly!

Move for adjournment!
@ruouttaurmind I need a P4!!
@sportykev We all do, Kev. We all do...
@ruouttaurmind I stand corrected! :)
