In the writeup, which I definitely appreciated, including the excellent “Feudal Positioning Strategy” genre of computer games, I think Charlie “alluded” to the price, not “eluded” - the price didn’t escape him, he referred to it.
The one star reviews on Amazon tell the real story. Basically: These have decent sound, but everything else is terrible. Cheap build quality, frustrating use of the case, only 3 hours per charge, and a lot of what appear to be fake reviews.
@Lynnerizer@pmarin Same, and currently, anything that remains unopened I know what is in it, so I need some more that I wonder/can’t remember what I bought
@grandmoo@Lynnerizer@pmarin Kind of like Christmas or birthday all year round, huh?
(But the presents are mostly from someone who doesn’t know you well or doesn’t like you.)
@AROAH I agree. And the implication that you can hear both the phone and the computer at the same time has not been my experience with bluetooth headsets ever. It’s one or the other.
@Wollyhop
Exactly. But I must admit, I have been using earbuds when I work outside… especially in the summer. Headphones just get too freaking hot and the sweat becomes intolerable in the South.
Maybe the description should be ‘noise reducing’ or ‘noise blocking’ and not ‘noise cancelling’? There is no evidence of active noise cancellation in the description. Any anything you stick in your ear canal will have some ‘noise reduction’…
@customers We wanted to make a clarification to the original title we had on this sale – these earbuds are noise reducing, not noise cancelling. They do have a noise cancelling mic. If this spec difference changes your mind, please feel free to cancel your order today. Thank you!
Just yesterday I found myself wanting some more 2.4 gHz earbuds for my Steam Deck to replace some JBL Quantum buds, these fall well within my risk/reward spectrum so I’m in for a pair. If they work out I might grab more if they show up on Sidedeal.
So meh for me. I don’t like headphones or earbuds as many here know since I’ve gifted all that I have gotten in irks. I just don’t like anything in my ears, I have to tolerate earplugs when I’m at the gym since the music is so loud.
Ok, what the fuck, yesterday I got on a train and there was some Asian guy extoling the virtues of his $25 gaming earbuds and expressing appreciation for their low latancy. He sounded like an advertisment. I even pointed this out and we laughed about it. And now these headphones are here. Are they the same ones. DID I RUN INTO CHARLIE LIU!!!

Hey buds!
@yakkoTDI Hear here!
/8ball Do I need another pair of earbuds to add to my collection?
Outlook not so good
Too bad, I bought them anyway. I hope they don’t suck.
Uh, not the usual meaning of the spec?
Not sure my old ears even do 2.4 KHz anymore.
@phendrick I would hope so. Maybe you were thinking of 24 Khz?
@ohhwell hunh? What’d you say?

@Knightp IAMJOYfully passing then.
HEAR HEAR…

I’m about ready for a Meh-rathon!
@Lynnerizer meh too.
The number of unopened boxes in my entryway has gotten critically low.
@Lynnerizer @pmarin Same, and currently, anything that remains unopened I know what is in it, so I need some more that I wonder/can’t remember what I bought
@grandmoo @pmarin
Exactly!

But… TBT, if I leave the boxes there long enough I forget what’s in them anyway!
@grandmoo @Lynnerizer @pmarin Kind of like Christmas or birthday all year round, huh?

That quoted Amazon review sounds completely legitimate, definitely.
@AROAH I agree. And the implication that you can hear both the phone and the computer at the same time has not been my experience with bluetooth headsets ever. It’s one or the other.
@AROAH @Wireball_ These do come with a dongle. It’s not using two Bluetooth connections to hear both at the same time.
I am a Headphones guy.
Always have been, always will.
@Wollyhop
Exactly. But I must admit, I have been using earbuds when I work outside… especially in the summer. Headphones just get too freaking hot and the sweat becomes intolerable in the South.
@Wollyhop Oh! That must have been a difficult delivery for your mother!

You know what wireless band Bluetooth uses? 2.4GHz

@giorgitd You’re right – will be emailing customers to make sure that’s understood. Thank you!
So, the noise canceling applies only to the mic?
@chienfou You’re right – will be emailing customers to make sure that’s understood. Thank you!
