I had to share... Apple didn't like Microsoft's logo, so they redesigned it.

I didn't want to rip the article apart and post it as my own with source... so I just put the article... Needless to say I like Apple's version of Microsoft/Windows logo more than Microsoft's.

Maybe they didn't want to pay to license the logo in their documentation.
Interesting. The article is not long, perfectly acceptable reading to go along with coffee. It would be nice to see MS get a couple of design clues from Apple (or, gosh, anywhere), but they convinced me back in Windows 8 that I should not upgrade any more, so I suppose it doesn't matter (yes, that means I'm running Win7).
@Shrdlu Windows 10 is pretty spiffy. For Windows. Or the number 10.
I don't like it myself
@tightwad Yeah, I don't get it. Is it supposed to be better than the official one?
It looks like it was designed to make Windows look old and dull.
@darksaber99999 @tightwad @medz The whole point is that Apple is going to start carrying more 3rd party things in their stores, but they want to try to promote Apple 1st. They are unifying the box sizes on some of the things and using their own packaging... I suspect the box will be similar to the size of the windows 7 boxes or possibly smaller, when you buy it you will receive either the stuff in that box, or the larger box that it comes in (I think I saw them doing that with some of the printers already... small box to buy, go grab from the back with the actual box. It'd be neat to go into a store and see everything the exact same sized boxes... Apple is working with the 3rd parties to redesign the logos/packaging that they will put on their shelf to make it look good in an apple store/uniform with the other 3rd party items.
@sohmageek Sounds very bland and gross. A desktop computer should not be sold in the same-sized box as a flash drive. I understand not having a stack of huge boxes on the showroom floor, but why go through the trouble of a creating a fake box? Just have slips of paper under the display model like every other place. Customer takes one and brings it to the register. Done.
Apple's thang seems to be everything is white and boring, so I guess if that's what the kids are into...meh.
@sohmageek @medz the trees are crying.
@darksaber99999 well said. and the so called journalist had a definite bias.
I thought the article from the RedmondPie link was extremely confusing in regards to which logo was the actual Apple substitute. Based solely on placement of the images within the article, one would surmise the "blue cloud" image was the Apple version (plus that image name is Apple-Windows-logo_1.jpg) However, the actual logo substituted by Apple was the bland 2D window image to the right of the icloud icon towards the bottom of the article. Not sure why the huge blue cloud logo was featured so prominently.
That brings back memories...
I don't even have windows that bland in my abode. I find it insulting actually, a put down. But then Apple has always been snobby.
