I didn’t buy it…
11Kinda sad about not getting that refurb battery pack yesterday. I haven’t bought anything in a very long time from here, sometimes I complain about the crap they offer but that’s only because it seems it’s the ethos of the site.
I hope if you got one of those refurbs yesterday and it blows up or something, let me know so that I can feel less bad.

Way to turn a negative for someone else into a positive for you! That, too, is the ethos of this site.
@qazxto I can relate that a prior similar purchase, the Vickers SnugMax, went south for me around six months after arrival. This did not successully cause me to avoid buying one of the Puleida version (which has thus far worked well) and I am still awaiting the arrival of the current purchase. I will cheerfully share the regret if any is forthcoming.
I really really wanted one too, but at that moment I had zero spare cash to spend on it. I feel your pain. Had it been last month, I’d have one right now!
Anyone else get an email on the 26th saying they had a small batch of new ones for $149.99 ?
@detailer yes I got one - email that is. I didn’t buy. Now if they were selling something that would have produced water out of thin air that I would have bought (although it has been 10 mo since we went without water for days so maybe that situation is improving; still had some boiled water notices). Electricity we usually have here.

@detailer @poids Major problem with this idea… I am not allowed to even put an antenna for the TV in the window (so can only get one station without it being in the window). The landlord is not going to allow me to cover the roof in solar panels or use up the yard. He’d enjoy the energy savings but I doubt I’d see any of the water. He’d use it to water the yard. The new owner is a fucking asshole (this is hud so it isn’t as easy as voting with your feet and wallet or I would).
@detailer @Kidsandliz How about you MacGyver this thing? https://www.instructables.com/DIY-Atmospheric-Water-Generator/
@detailer @poids Clever idea but sitting around like that I’d suspect you’d still need to filter it. My landlord would have kittens over this too. And I’d only have water in the summer anyway since it isn’t humid enough in the winter. Hmm I could run a humidifier and dehumidifier at the same time. I wonder if enough water comes out of the dehumidifier to then run the humidifier enough. Oh wait. I am supposed to get enough water to drink some when we have none or there is a boil water notice.
While we’re at it, if anyone bought one of those hover cycle toys and it flies up and takes out your eye, let me know so I can feel better about it.
@OnionSoup Hover cycle toys lack actual hover capability; they’re more like those “hoverboards”. (Hopefully without the “burn down your house in the middle of the night” feature.)
@OnionSoup @werehatrack Those RC birds they had a few weeks back looked like they could take out an eye or two.
@lisagd @werehatrack OK, one of those, or if someone’s lithium batteries from anything exploded… that would be great.
