@JnKL That cover of “All about that bass” makes you realise a song can seem like rotting carp but it really turns out to have good lyrics. They were just wrapped in a package of bad music that was stinking the place up like carp left on the backseat of the car on a Florida Summer weekend.
I think it IS all of it! The clarinet, the lead singer’s voice is perfect for the song, the beat is so catchy, …
Syncopation, anyone?
Awesome. Thanks, I had never heard them before.
I love PMJ. They actually have a couple of different casts that tour. I went to see them with Straight No Chaser a few years ago. SNC was the headliner but PMJ stole the show.
@cinoclav They came to the Genesee Theater in Waukegan, IL a couple of years ago, which would have been the perfect venue to see them, but I just didn’t get my act together. I’ve idly regretted it ever since, but especially now, what with the global pandemic and all.
@cinoclav@mossygreen I think they have had 8 shows in my area since I have heard of them. I am just waiting for them to pass through my area when I actually have time to see them.
It’s definitely everything. I went on a PMJ jag last year and watched anything I could find. Looks like it’s time to recharge! They seem to be able to re-imagine pretty much anything into a better or more interesting style than the original, then pull it off convincingly. That’s a rare talent (and I’m guessing an awful lot of work!)
Insta-like. Very New Orleans FQ vibe.
Loved 2:48.
Mic drop. Adjust boobs. Epic.
@mike808 Yup, the opening notes gave me goosebumps and they stayed through the whole song.
I had not seen this cover. If you like PMJ, they do a pretty good “All about that bass”. I like a lot of their stuff.

@yakkoTDI great review! I can almost smell that description!
@JnKL @yakkoTDI almost all of their modern pop song renditions are fantastic!
I live their versatility! Check out their Pinky and the Brain rendition where they bring in the original voice actors. They’re so much fun!
@luvche21 Ooooh.
@luvche21 I hadn’t seen that one. Freaking love it.

@mossygreen Keep checking their website. I’m sure they’ll make their way around somewhere close enough for you to see them.

@cinoclav Yeah, but the Genesee would be such a great venue! It has history. Jack Benny did a broadcast from there!
Damn. Good stuff.
Wow, that was excellent. Thanks for sharing.
@dave Came back and listened again today.
@dave I’ve been watching it from my profile page. Also here. Because I wasn’t kidding, I can’t stop watching it.
