@RiotDemon I want my action heroes to look bad ass (I.e., like Charlize Theron), not lame-ass. This guy’s face always looks like somebody hit him with a pan.
@tinamarie1974 we’re not actually sure if that was the particular grooming (I was mostly being a smartass about it), but that was the groomer where we started noticing his anxiety increasing when we would go so we switched to a mobile. They had good results the first time and then even they couldn’t groom him. Now we have to do it ourselves. Poor guy. I suspect it was an issue over his claws. He’s extremely sensitive about them.

Not pictured: the veritable living-hell existence you have to suffer through every waking hour of your life in order to maintain a bodyfat percentage in the lower single digits, unless you’re genetically-predisposed to it (e.g. Nigerian marathon runners, the tiny Asian girl at work who never moves and eats entire pizzas for lunch yet somehow still weighs 92 pounds, etc).
Don’t get me wrong, actors these days put in some hard work (with the assistance of roids and $300,000/year trainers) to get jacked up, but those individually-defined obliques are courtesy of Industrial Light and Magic.
@UncleVinny I agree with the Charlie Theron, but since I don’t really give 2 poops re: male heroes’ looks, the rest lost me.
You might as well complain about Paul Rudd in the Avengers and Ant Man.
@tinamarie1974 Really, that’s the best giphy you could find for brazilian?
They need to light that gas- armadillos carry and transmit leprosy…

@mike808 That first season of Patriot is my all time favorite video media. (Can’t see bothering watching Jack Whatever.)
Did you know that the same writer guy wrote a series for Epix, called Perpetual Grace, LTD? Feels a bit too samey and maybe less… good… for me to recommend it after watching Patriot, but I’m enjoying that show also.
@tinamarie1974 Start with season 1, and you’ll love it. The only thing we didn’t really absolutely like was the cliffhanger-ish episode endings.
You may also want to try the series “Strike Back” on Amazon- from your prior comments, you may well appreciate it as well.
We also liked it very much.
We’re also fans of “Bosch”, having read all the Michael Connelly books previously, and Simon Tolliver is a much more grizzled-appearing actor, so some of the critics of Mr. Krasinski may also be able to tolerate him better- IF they can separate the actor from some of his less savory roles [e.g., a heavy in one of the Transformer movies]…
Let me know what you think…
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the casting of the first series anyway, and PARTICULARLY like Krasinski in the Ryan role, he’s SUPPOSED to be a big change from the Duke-Hardjaw thing, he’s SUPPOSED to be a fluffy-minded everyman who gets drawn into into an extreme situation.
Unfortunately the story seemed to go wandering back and forth between fluffy-minded and hardjaw, and I lost interest before the end; the most recent one lost me in just a couple minutes. Hunt for Red October and Patriot Games have been the best Jack-Ryan-on-film things so far imho. But I think John Krasinski is great - though I’d actually like him better in the role if he hadn’t gone all Duke-Hardbody.
I realize that isn’t EVERYbody’s preference, though!
I am not a huge fan of the office (don’t hate me - i have plenty of RL friends that do over this opinion) but I really do love the show. i haven’t watched season two yet but i’m looking forward to it. i was skeptical because i’ve always been a huge harrison ford fan and i absolutely loved the books. but i have to say i was pleasantly surprised. thank god.
When WERE you silent?
@cinoclav touché
Maybe because that’s Jim Halpert, not Jack Ryan.
Also:
@RiotDemon obvious fake! I call BS.
@UncleVinny don’t be jealous.
@RiotDemon I want my action heroes to look bad ass (I.e., like Charlize Theron), not lame-ass. This guy’s face always looks like somebody hit him with a pan.
@UncleVinny harsh.
@RiotDemon it’s all CGI smoke and mirrors. Green screen effects.
@RiotDemon @UncleVinny
Even in this picture he has that “Oh, shit! I better duck!” look. Definitely not that “You talkin’ to me?” vibe.
@RiotDemon @UncleVinny with THAT body, who is looking at his face? Not me, I am counting abs!!
@RiotDemon @tinamarie1974 @UncleVinny Exactly. That’s “Holy Shit” hot.
@RiotDemon His happy trail is 60% hair plugs.
@medz @RiotDemon uummmm. I’d go for a hike on that trail!
@tinamarie1974 even when completed shaven down there, I still keep a trim happy trail. His is too bushy IMO.
@medz @tinamarie1974 I’m sorry, but I REALLY didn’t need to read that…
@medz I am a huge fan of no pubic floss. To be honest though, I didn’t notice his until someone mentioned it…too many other things to appreciate!!

Ok no idea what the gif has to do with a Brazilian, but it is so stinkin cute!!
@ybmuG
@tinamarie1974 our dog got a really bad summer cut a couple years ago that we called the Scotty Brazilian. He was clearly mortified.
@medz yeah, no kidding.
@ybmuG but he is so cute!!
@tinamarie1974 Thanks. He a bush now, because he wont let anyone groom him. I blame it on mental anguish over the Brazilian.
@ybmuG serves dry turkey.
@ybmuG aawww poor guy. Must have been traumatic for him. Wonder if he got razor burn too?

@mediocrebot Ha! Proves what you know! Used to be a chef, so I can cook a turkey where even the white meat is juicy.
@medz @tinamarie1974 I really hope that’s water.

Same reaction here. The guy’s a teddy bear, not a badass. Terrible casting. Only thing that makes it tolerable is the plot.
The Patriot was way better. Makes you wish you were McMillan material.

@mike808 I never get tired of watching this. Pure poetry.
@macromeh @mike808 I’d rather listen to some afternoon spray.
@InnocuousFarmer Don’t knock it until you’ve watched it- it was awesome!
KRULL! A SKULL! BRETT HULL! AWESOME!
I’m so out of it.
What action hero is he supposed to be?
Jack Ryan?
@f00l yes.
He also played a fairly dopey guy in the Office.
Some people can’t seem to separate the parts.
@RiotDemon
I think he might need a beard in order to have an approximate “action hero face”.
Beardless, he does kinda have the face of a comic straight man.
@f00l added Jack Ryan to my list!

@aetris I treasure your input, especially given its enthusiasm!
I disagree. He’s a great choice for Jack Ryan.

@ivannabc thanks, god!
@ivannabc Agree on all counts, but after watching him in “A Quiet Place”, I had few doubts…
