@MrsPavlov OMG LMAO! I thought the same thing to myself… Got all the gadgets that are suppose to clean my home, however, the damn maid never shows up to use them
@MrsPavlov Oh, I don’t know. I bought a roomba-type vacuum ~5 years ago, I haven’t even taken it out of the box. When, on occasion, I feel a little silly about it, I lie down until the feeling passes.
@Sansoona If it does, I still have a crud load of AA Evereadys from a year back or so. They’d probably give you 30-90 seconds before you need to replace them.
:32 in the video @Moose posted demonstrates precisely who this is marketed to: folks who drink enough wine on the toilet that they get a little wobbly-spilly.
Quite frankly, it is a mop and will spend most of its time in a dark closet, and not hung on a wall on display. In truth, I really would have been fine with any of the colors. But due in large part to your love of the color purple, @Barney, coupled with my feelings that purple is inadequately represented in nature, especially vs the browns and greens and blues, I chose the purple mop.
TL;DR: @Barney, your love of purple is one of the reasons I went for it.
@squishybrain You can use any floor cleaner. Pine-Sol or any store brand copy of that. Or anything that is labeled as floor cleaner. Be sure to dilute it as it says on the label. Most say 1/4 cup to a gallon of water. Look for those. Some say 1/2 cup or 1 cup to a gallon. Those are rip offs. I like store brand Pine-Sol copies as long as they are the 1/4 cup to a gallon type. Dollar Tree will have several. They’re all OK. Look for the 1/4 cup-to-gallon types. This thing will use a lot less than a gallon, so figure that out.
@squishybrain I am hooked on the BONA. I tried everything including the vinegar and water which normally works on everything. The BONA leaves a really clean feel and seems to repel the dirt, dust, pet hair. My husband even noticed how good the laminate wood floor felt. I have so many mops, etc. I’m just sticking to my microfiber mop and Bona. Good luck.
It is little pricey, but well worth the $$. Get a coupon for Bed Bath & Beyond. Also sold at Home Depot.
PS: For all laminate floors use a very small amount to damp mop. I always dry the floor afterwards unless my ceiling fan is set on high.
@vanslaterco yeah the one I posted is different - that’s what I’m saying. I’m seeing reviews for that product which are unfavorable but not any for the spray mop.
So, I was going to buy this mop until I thought “How do you wring out the mop head once it’s sopping-wet?”. Well if you look at the photo of the box you can see that it’s “compatible with the Spin Mop Bucket” which is sold-out on the manufacturer’s website and doesn’t look like it’s a currently sold item. Plus the video for the mop on the manufacturer’s website screams “Made for TV Product”. I’ll pass.
@vanslaterco How do you wash the mop head? I have dogs and cats the mop will need cleaning after my kitchen. I can’t clean the rest of the house with a dirty mop.
@mellaine
Rinse it out and throw in the washer w your cleaning rags. I have to do the same w my my mop heads. Better than pushing around a nasty sponge.
@candismilesatu I wash more than 1 room. i have 2 dogs and 3 cats.
The mop will be dirty after 1/4 of tmy den. The Vacuume does not pick up all the dirt from dogs paws, kids and dust. I ordered one for $10. Bed bath and beyond sells them for $50 with a bucket. I will try rinsing it in water then put it in the washing machine when I finished all the floors.
better than a mop because of the filthy bucket. But the bucket is filthy because you put the floor crud in there. So does this just redistribute floor crud and disrupt the bucket middleman?
If this is any good, I’m going to regret not buying more. Because dogs. For every floor of all three houses…that’s 7. Can I buy replacement mop heads anywhere?
If you purchase it, you are required to report back. Either with a vid of you using it, in a real household setting where human-operated mopping is needed and you are the human who does it, or a report back on the frequency and duration with which your hands wield thus thing as intended by the manufacturer over a period of one month.
Been very happy with it since I can just keep switching out the cleaning pads if I’m trying to mop up muddy paw prints before I clean the rest of the house.
@RiotDemon I’ve had one of those for a while. They work well, but mine started leaking recently so I had to dump the unused washing fluid out each time. I figure I’ll give this one a shot.
I have the WetJet, and I don’t hate it, proprietary connector and all. If this mop is truly being compared to it, then no bucket is needed, right? Instead of disposing of the pad, you throw the mop part in the washer.
There are lots of tutorials online on refilling the wetjet bottle. I haven’t tried yet, but definitely going to after checking a few out.
@ACraigL I have refilled a WetJet bottle before. It is pretty easy, you need to put the bottle top in hot water for a minute and then it will come off. Then mix some Pine Sol cleaner with water.

If it works after 300 washes its $.05 a use, depending on how dirty I let it get first (I counted the shipping cost). My old Swiffer’s are engineered to break at the handle after a week, maybe. But, i’m still a little ‘meh’. Like a buy at the county fairgrounds. js
I was at my local Ollie’s and saw this very similar product with the bucket for $18+tax. Just in case y’all didn’t get one and want to get one locally …
The best idea to avoid mopping your damn floors:
Rent or find a baby & buy some M&M’s.
Put your baby-mop on the baby & throw the M&M’s on the floor.
Let the kid mop until the candy is gone.
If the baby misses a spot, throw more M&M’s in that area.
Enjoy the freshly-mopped floor.
Give the baby back to it’s owner.
I started to get the forever loop when I hit the pay button, so after freaking out for a moment, then refreshed and low and behold it went threw. 1st time I’ve ever panicked trying to buy a mop… ( thought I was just going to get the forever loop with the ice molds like Tuesday ).
Just received mine today…seems it’s been used before.
Box is unsealed and open, papers are smashed and bent, no english instructions at all, already fluid in the reservoir, plastic is worn where you connect the handle to the mop, making it really difficult to even attach.
Mine also appeared to be used and the connection where the plastic is is cracked , could be crap maufacturing thats why meh got them for 4 bucks i guess cant beat the price 10 bucks shipped and it works so keep the bargins commin cant always be diamonds ty Meh
Hate to pile it on, but mine was half assembled and not in a good way. The handle where the plastic ring is supposed to attach snuggly is slightly bent. As if someone got very frustrated putting it together. I can relate. Anyway, the soft mop part is delightful and I shall make it work, by golly.
For a product called the “Spin Mop” It sure doesn’t spin.
In any case, I’m quite shocked that this is the first actual piece of non functioning trash I’ve ever got from Meh.
Luckily, I showed them pictures of how the product came and what was wrong with it, and they are able to refund me. Still though, I wonder how often they test the products themselves, or see a demonstration thereof, before selling them.
I was really hoping this mop would work out as a nice easy cleaning solution for my mom, but it was to cheap to be true I guess. If anyone has any small, easy mop alternatives they know of, feel free to let me know!
Yeah these are absolute crap… the idea behind it was great! I bought 2… the don’t spin and they don’t clean. Didnt complain to meh cause I have gotten a lot of great stuff from them. Not everything is going to be a winner.
Update. Product has mfr 1yr warranty, tried to register, captcha will not work. Guess that’s one way of not honoring a warranty. Can’t register product.
I just set mine up and used it for the first time in my new apartment and was confused by the lack of spinning until I figured out that if I only put pressure on one side as I pushed, the mop head would spin (put your weight on the edge of the plastic disc that holds the mop head rather than the center where the shaft connects). As to whether that has any positive effect on the cleaning, I have no idea. It seems pretty sturdy and no leaks so far. I just dumped some cleaner (Mrs Meyers all purpose I found cheap at a closeout store) and hot water in the reservoir (maybe half a cup of cleaner and the rest of the way with water, but I probably should have used less cleaner), then dumped a small mugful of hot water onto the mop head to dampen it. The spray shoots out a fine mist in a wide arc, so be careful when aiming, or be prepared to wipe cleaning fluid off your counters/walls/nosy pets.
After use it seems to do a better job than my basic swiffer with store brand wet mop refills. If I had more floor space to mop I’d probably get a bucket to go with it, but I mostly spot clean and maybe damp mop the laminate once a month, and this set up works great.
FINAL UPDATE: Regarding broken mop. Just got off the phone with Viatek and they are sending a new mop in the mail. Very easy to get hold of customer service and really happy that they didn’t have a problem replacing. YAY!
Agreeing with the masses here. First, mine appeared to be used on arrival, however not broken, so rolled with it. But once I got going I found that it is very difficult to actually get a floor clean with this thing. No scrubbing power, and if you push too hard the handle bends. Wouldn’t buy another.
Was OK at first. Then, not so mush. Wouldn’t spray - just kind of dribbled and then leaked after you were done. A puddle of vinegary water on the closet floor. So that’s no good. Pitched it. Got what I paid for.

Meh should have just owned up to the product pics and sold this as the @moose mop!
If I buy one of these, I’d feel like I should use it. I don’t want to do that. So no.

Looking great, mister @moose!!!
I don’t want this.

@sp3ar, what the hell did he throw in there?
@haydesigner bottle rocket – lmao. his hands clawing at the glass… I’m crying!

@Sansoona Nope, you just have to like, shove it against the wall or whatever.

Argh. Let’s fix another giphy fail (or is that success?)
@Moose HURRICANE MOP!!1!
@Moose I am confused. Utube shows it with a bucket and not a spray.
Does meh mop come with a bucket?
How do you rinse the mop head
@mellaine sorry, youtube was to show how it spins. No bucket, just spray.
@Moose i have a bucket. I hope it is compatible.
@Moose I hear that for travertine and marble that, “it’s the best!”

@oppodude Tanga also sells these:
@mehdaf If they make them in toddler sizes, I can really utilize the 2 year old’s full potential. He already likes to “swiffer” so …
I hate my Swiffer wet jet. I’ll give this one a try. Sounds like I’ll need it- my order number is cozy-bizarre-yogurt. Ew. Cleanup on aisle three!
OK, need help here. What do you folks recommend as cleaning solution? Water? Water and Vinegar? Water and Vinegar and the blood of the innocent? Err…

@squishybrain I hear Bona is good.

@vanslaterco How do you wash the mop head? I have dogs and cats the mop will need cleaning after my kitchen. I can’t clean the rest of the house with a dirty mop.
@mellaine My plan is a spray down in the bathtub or outside with a hose. Maybe a soak in a tea tree oil bath.
