I have a great stash of 100 proof vodka and use it to clean/sanitize. Works great with essential oils that are anti microbial, anti viral and anti fungal. And they smell great together, too.
@AuntMean67 my husband bought some moonshine and I couldn’t stand the taste of it. So we have a whole bottle of it to use for sanitation. He even used it to preserve some specimens for his agriculture business.
@Tadlem43 It’s better than nothing. It will kill some germs. I wash my hands a lot, keep my face covered around everyone except my spouse, wear gloves at work (mandatory for some of the jobs we do) and shop online. But I’ve been doing all but the face covering for years. I get the flu shot every year and so for the past 20 years I only call off work or don’t go somewhere due to migraines. I rarely get sick. Oh. Allergies. Some seasons really put me down.
As for me worrying about keeping covid at bay? I’m one of the extremists who believe that this is all part of nature and that vaccine or not, I’ll eventually get it. I believe it’ll end up being one of those things like the flu and that we’ll have to be inoculated every year.
@longtones See if your oils are either therapeutic or medical grade. If so…15 drops lavender, 11 drops peppermint or orange, and 8 drops tea-tree essential oils. I have recipes for other things if you’d like them, whisper to me and give me your email and I’ll make a document to send you.
@Tadlem43 I understand. There are some here who wouldn’t agree with me at all and I understand that, too. Thank God people are so different from each other or the world would be very boring. I guess maybe I take so much pride in trying to go as natural as I can that sometimes I sound defensive about it. It takes a lot of work and thought to do it. But with my allergies and migraines, this is the route I have to take.
Having enough masks, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant wipes has not been an issue in quite some while, but yesterday I saw Lysol spray on the shelves in the store for the first time since last February.
@DrWorm YES! What happened to name brand wipes. We haven’t been able to find chlorox or lysol wipes in a year. My husband has to use wipes for his medical equipment and he’s really wary of using he unknown brands that just started being stocked in 2020
My county has the highest COVID positivity rate in the state, which is mostly due to the sheer, obstinate denialism we seem to be so good at. There’s an upside, though - PPE isn’t exactly flying off the shelves here, so there’s plenty to be had for those of us who actually give a fuck.
No ammunition to be found for love or money, of course.
PPE should be employer provided for critical jobs. In my opinion. So I don’t have any stash. I mean I have my mask but I think of the term PPE in the scope of OSHA. Which is not me and work from home so.
Don’t really go out much, so not a lot of use
I live my theme song: Hermit McDermit (from late 70s).
Personal protective equipment? Well, I am running low on ammo…
@phendrick Yes!
Don’t touch me!

@AuntMean67 what ratio do you use with oils to vodka? I have a cheap essential oil kit that I got in a mehrathon that I need to use…
@AuntMean67 100 proof vodka won’t kill covid. It needs to be at least 60% alcohol (70% is better) and 100 proof is only 50%. Just FYI.

@AuntMean67 My comment wasn’t a criticism, it was just a statement of fact.
Glad you take precautions, though.

It’s easy to maintain a stash when you’re trapped inside your home.

@DrWorm @mbersiam as soon as we get clorox wipes or Lysol… It flies off the shelf. It’s there, just not very long.
got all the toilet paper that we need along with Clorox wipes my wife uses regularly. that’s all we need.

I also blame the state’s designation system. There aren’t a lot of people here who want to see a map that has us colored blue . . . .
Who ever thought you could wear a mask into a bank and not be arrested on the spot.
I got enough Everclear to disinfect all the things.
Anyone who’s that ANAL about keeping safe and clean maybe should use those stupid key things in and around feminine hygiene crap! #EwITouchedAPad
@pvtchef66 not cool.
