I love having outdoor cats. I hear horror stories about how cat pee doesn’t come out of the carpet, and how so-and-so’s cat is plotting to kill them and on, and on.
The only problem is they often up and die, but I got over that pretty quick.
@Charcoalwolfman I have indoor cats - I have had 14 (not all at once) cats so far - and never had any of those problems. I can count on one hand the number of times the carpet has been pee’d on. My kid has made bigger messes/disasters than my cats.
Also the enzyme pee remover works really well - even on human pee (duct taping diapers on a certain baby still didn’t work all that well with a diaper Houdini baby).
dog will get sad and lonely and sometimes this will cause her to poop/vomit inside. kitten is a terrorist and attacks other cat. other two cats are perfect.
the two trouble makers are the new ones. should have left well enough alone
@meh Son came home with 2 new cats. They got added to the cat he left when he went to law school, and Rusty. It has been over a month now and it still hasn’t settled down. Somehow the new cats have taken over.
My pit would do whatever she though she could get away with when no one was around. She was pretty good at acting link nothing was amiss until I would check the temp of the couch cushions or stuff, then she’d act all humble and contrite.
I’m still confused by new behaviors that start years after I’ve had the pets. After 7 years, Rusty decided to empty the kitchen garbage if we leave him alone with it. Now we have to lock it up whenever we leave the house.
My only pet is a rabbit. We keep her crated because otherwise she’ll chew on everything - electrical cords (we have split-loom tubing over the mostly-permanent cords, but anything mobile will be destroyed), wicker, and any stray pieces of paper she can reach.
But aside from that, I can’t complain. She’s very low-maintenance, and is very people-friendly and cuddly. Not to mention quiet.
When my kid was about 4 we visited wife’s co-workers home, a beautiful condo on Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive. The couple that lived there were double income no kids.
Kid: where is your dog?
Couple: we don’t have a dog
Kid: cat?
Couple: no cat
Kid: what pets do you have?
Couple: no pets.
Kid: looks up at mom like “can we leave now?”
Back in our dating days, the Wife & I shared a house with another couple who had a beagle. Great dog, then we adopted a tiny orange kitten from the local SPCA and those two would go at it, playing tag & just having the best time.
A few months in, we all come home from a night out and there’s a lamp leaning up against the 2nd floor loft ledge, with the kitten’s collar hanging loosely from the end. He was fine, acting like nothing happened but it was a good 20’ drop and we never figured out how he didn’t break his tiny neck.
My dog is alone everyday while I’m at work .
He don’t have beds until he stop eating them. Rory now has a bed but he still prefers the floor. He got his bed when he was 2. We have one Wolfy bed which is good and one serta bed http://jonsguide.org/best-top-serta-dog-bed-reviews/ which is great and i would recommend both. Soon going get second puppy , hope he’ll be have with other taste preferences
Also I have aquarium, all fishes are well-mannered pets

@Charcoalwolfman A cat … plotting to kill? That’s purrposterous!

Alas, no doggie anymore but more than once she’s taken shirts out of the house and into the yard to snooze on.

Our cat is more likely to act out when we are around
The only pets I have are houseplants. I used to have a fish, but alas…
@ceruleanseas
’Twas eaten by the pitcher plant?
90% of the time they are good, but every once in a while one will get really excited and chew up something he shouldn’t.
My 2 dogs just sleep until I get home.
My two furry friends are perfect angels. Sometimes they yak up a furball, though; that’s to be expected. They don’t think outside the box!

As long as I leave a pee pad in the kitchen when I go to work, all is good.
Well, they say they are good, but I’m not there so I can’t really say for sure.
@DrWorm I guess you need one of these cameras for confirmation

@smyle BUNNY!!! Need photos.
@sammydog01 Since you asked, I snapped a pic when I put her outside today.

We have about a 10’ square outdoor area with a hutch where we put her during the day when the weather is nice enough.
@smyle She’s beautiful! And such a nice life for a house bunny. Thanks for the photo.

@number51 That’s me as a kid.

When I used to have 2 dogs, I would check on them from work with my webcam. It just made me want to go back home that much more.

Those kitties would never go to trial. Pure unadulterated innocence.
