If you live in Florida, you can’t really answer the “how’s your summer?” question each year until Dec 31 (or Jan 1 of the next year). The summer for a given year is over when the year is over, isn’t it?
Yeah, the traditional 3 summer months in Florida are yet hotter and stickier than the rest of the year.
@RiotDemon Pretty much. Here in central Florida, summer lasts until about the end of October. I hate it, it’s one of the few things I genuinely dislike about living here. I feel like I’ll melt into a sticky vinyl puddle just checking my mailbox!
@PooltoyWolf summer will be the thing that eventually makes me move out of Florida. Everything else I can deal with.
@f00l it’s pretty bad when Christmas is 80°+ most years. Occasionally I can wear hoodies in November and December when the other states get a random blizzard that pushes some cold air downwards, but otherwise it doesn’t get “cold” until January/February.
@PooltoyWolf Nothing has changed. I grew up in Orlando, before a/c was normal. We hung out in malls and movie theatres, tried to time everything for after sunset, and lay in front of rotating fans saying aaaaaaaaa… I left Orlando in 1968, because it was boring.
@PooltoyWolf Yeah, our summer here in West Texas generally lasts till at least Halloween, often till Thanksgiving, and sometimes till Christmas. We’ll have days of jacket weather inspersed with days of shorts weather. January and early February is our winter, and people up north wouldn’t call it that.
Been having exceptionally heavy rains during this monsoon season, under flash flood warning the whole weekend.
Not bad. A little bit of whirlwind romancing, a beer-fueled trip to Washington DC for the US Air Guitar National Finals, and saw some good concerts, including Elvis Costello. Can’t complain.
It’s the worst season, it’s bound to be terrible. Good riddance.
@brhfl
The DC/Baltimore area is a solid wall of tourists and humidity in summer, isn’t it?
Summer is just like all the other times except that it’s more hostile, wall-outer side. And you have to wear short-legged pants. Why.
Spent way too much of it at work or working from home.
Ah… seasons. A long-running Big Clothing conspiracy to sell you more types of pants.
Summer’s still got a month to go
@spitfire6006006 Two more, at least.
Worst summer ever. After 34 years of continuous employment, I was laid off and have no motivation to look for another job.
@cengland0 ouch, that sucks.
In NH here pretty sure we never hit 100°
Spent it working and getting a house ready to sell. So, pretty crappy. But fall, now is going to be wonderful.
Completed a bucket list trip. Best time ever!!
/youtube endless summer
Way too hot this year. Worked too much. No vacation. It was a summer to forget.
I don’t think I’ve seen a day below 100º in three months. And still likely won’t for another month. Summer sucks ass.
One of the responses should have been ‘meh’
This summer was le garbaggio.
Eh.
It’s Florida. Summer is the worst season.
K bye.

But Florida
We feel your pain.

I think there were fewer than 10 days over 100F. And rain almost once a week, or more! ( Often summers here have zero rain.).
So the weather kinda rocked.
Hoping for sunshine in Monday!
@f00l Yeah, same here. Everything’s green and pretty.
If I didn’t have to mow the lawn, it would be perfect.
Our seasons are:
Hot
Very HOT
VERY VERY VERY HOT
Not so Hot
they are not necessarily in a particular sequence nor do they correspond to the solstices and equinoxes
