glad to hear she’s not hurt.
i think you’re spozed to do it like this

@narfcake
Am I missing something?
@TickledLizard I dunno. I didn’t watch.

this is the USA
here, when we play football:
"stick them with the pointy end"
@f00l With those jumping skills that little girl might be able to play wide receiver!
This is the type of thing I usually feel sorry for the person and wish everyone would just give her a break. But why is she trying to catch it in the first place if she is so inept?
Feel free to mock away, internet.
@DrWorm She seems to be taking it all in good stride. Another view showed her laughing as she sat back up. She’s retweeting a lot of clips of herself on her Twitter account.
@jqubed I 100% agree that she has been an unbelievable good sport. She is impossible to dislike. But I still think she may have a Darwin award in her future. She is the female equivalent of “Hey y’all. Watch this”.
@DrWorm or, as they say in the south “Hey y’all. Hold my beer and watch this”… (local ER phrase for redneck’s last words…)
@DrWorm she missed one catch, how do we know she’s inept? You’ve never mishandled a catch before? Maybe she plays in a women’s football league in her spare time and had a bit much to drink or something?
@jbartus There’s muffing a catch and then there is a case of the ball totally missing your hands and hitting your face. No, I have never done that. That wasn’t “mishandling”, she totally whiffed it and that is almost certainly an indicator of ineptness. And there is nothing wrong with ineptness, I am inept at a lot of things, but I don’t unnecessarily attempt them in front of 87,000 people. And even that is “okay”, but I would deserve any ridicule aimed at me.
I guess she could have been drinking, but since she was on the job, that would have been an even bigger mistake.
@DrWorm
"whiffed it and that is almost certainly an indication of ineptness"
Or an indication of having caught perhaps 2 football tosses before in her life, and both of those easy soft underhand high lobs from 6 feet out. Which means she had no clue what a real football throw means, or of her skills, or of setting appropriateness.
It was stupid and I’m glad she’s not hurt. I doubt she’ll do it again. Or create a trend. But she wasn’t the first @f00l to try to catch a football, at the wrong place and wrong time. And she won’t be the last. Plenty of them have been within intra-family or intra-friend contests. And plenty of them have been and will be fully fully suited out and on the field.
She may have a case of “cute girl disorder”. At least she’s sharing, one presumes with humor; not whining.
@jbartus @DrWorm @f00l Hey, I had to stop playing ball because I got tired of getting hit in the head.

Don’t mock the inept.
hand/eye coordination is a learned skill…
(this was a teaching moment!)
She’s probably used to taking it on the chin.
I feel like I’ll need to ask for forgiveness from somebody if I star that.
Oh well.
