A hoodie is good for 6-10 non-consecutive wears in public unless it gets visibly dirty. At which point it becomes the house sweater where it is constantly worn for a week or 2 before it starts to smell. Then it goes in a bin and sits for like 2 or 3 months while the cycle repeats on like 10 other hoodies and eventually they all get washed together.
@Kidsandliz Same. I don’t go any specific amount of time between washes, I just wash it when it needs it. Could happen twice in a week, or once in a month.
I just want to take moment to say how wonderful hoodies are. I have at least 15 or 20(which is nothing compared to how many shoes I have). They come in and print or color, zip up or pullover, even different weights so you can wear them in more months than you can’t. A truly great garment that I only need to wash if it becomes visibly dirty or starts to stink.
@detailer Very few people actually use the hood. In any major city that would instantly make you appear a bit less friendly
I use the hood to keep a banana, or perhaps some extra sauce packets from your favorite restaurant. (Taco Bell Diablo sauce anyone?) In rare instances, such as festivals or late summer events I’ll pack it full of glow sticks
Never. No hoodie is “my favorite”. Alternately, “No hoodie” is my favorite. If my head needs insulating, I grab the ushanka. Is warm, and does not interfere with peripheral vision.
Almost never because I live in Florida and almost never wear it.
I would have to own one first
@Cerridwyn
That’s me as well.
1 to 4 times per year.
Every four to five days. Depends on how worked up I get at work.

@metaphore me.
When they are dirty. Duh.

Once every few years when I actually wear one.
A person who wants to stay alive does not wear a hoodie around here. That’s what I heard because I don’t own one.

Should I not be washing my pants?
I have a hoodie…somewhere. But I would have to wear it before washing it, and I don’t.
Can’t wear them. The warmth factor is nice, but I can’t stand the total loss of peripheral vision.

Think of it like a modern magician’s hat
@detailer @onae
OR an extension of someone’s purse or pockets…

When they smell or get dirty, duh
I have a few hoodies, but i tend to wear sweaters more often. All of them get washed when needed, not on a set schedule.
