@JonT I got busted in High School for phreaking with the pay phone by the office . . . I had figured out a way to tone out free long distance and was charging people a buck a call. Damn near paid for the limo for prom before they caught me.
@JonT Yeah, it's a lot like the 90s, except that I have a VoIP phone instead of a landline and Google Voice instead of an answering machine. I'll have one again at some point, but for now I'm enjoying the freedom. Being on call 24/7 for so many years really burned me out on cell phones...sometimes I just wanted to chuck the thing in the ocean.
300 minutes a month on my plan. My average use is 27 minutes per month. Not sure when it happened, but at some point in my life I just got tired of talking on the phone and now avoid it at all cost. Long live email and the 3 to 5 message text conversation!
Is there such a thing as Adult Onset Attention Deficit Disorder?
@ruouttaurmind also have 300min, mine also has unlimited text & data +free tethering for $25/mo. have had this almost 4yrs, only went over during 1 month. if i know i going to be on a long call, i’ll use a mobile VOIP app
Pay as you go. Ting has really good rates for people who use their phone for one thing a lot, but the other two things not as much. Or even just all three things not a whole lot.
Unlimited mobile to mobile (to any carrier) means I only use my other minutes to call for shit like dentist/doctor appointments, the bank, the bar I left my check card at last night... That sort of thing. Usually topping out at like 20-25 min a month. Don't even need rollover, pending a total minute cap (do they have those?) I would likely game over 15k minutes banked.
I don't use much, usually just to find my husband when we're at CostCo. Like yesterday when I had to powder my nose. When I was all nice and refreshed, I didn't know where he was in the store, so I called him and he answered. "Eggs" was all he said.
Republic Wireless. Unlimited minutes, with the understanding that you're supposed to use their Wi-Fi calling as much as possible. Been pretty happy with them, except for the roaming data policies(50mb roaming before they throttle you down to practically no bandwidth, it gets used up driving back and forth to work with only background apps running). Works out good because I'm cheap.
I couldn't even tell you what kind of voice plan we have--though I think it's unlimited now--because we rarely use our minutes. It got to the point that I started giving it to certain people at work (those I trust). We mostly burn up text (unlimited) and data (30 GB for four of us).
I still use cups and string. Luddite FTW.
@Pavlov embrace the future

@Pavlov Kaptain Krunch?
@PocketBrain 2600 Hz was my friend. Loved that whistle - still have it in my office on display.
$17.99 unlimited talk and text on ringplus for the WIN
What mobile phone? I haven't had one for several years (after being chained to one for 18 years by my job).
@ChunkyBitz What's it like? Is it like the early 90s? You're a unicorn.

We have so many roll over minutes plus free nights and weekends that it would be near impossible.
I'm an old fart & got my first cell phone in July. I pretty much never use it. Want me to call you? Leave your number. I'm not proud.

The three things being minutes, texts, and data.

@bigbo2003 ° have... Damn auto correct. And i can't "save" after editing, although "cancel" works. Hmmm
KIDS REACT TO ROTARY PHONES:
I am way too tired half of the time to speak to anyone so I barely break over 300 minutes, much less 200 minutes.

Oops. I answered wrong. We rarely go over on our data plan. We never go over the limit on voice (if there is one).
We have 2gbytes per month for four phones. Wifi almost everywhere except in the cars. We sometimes go over on family trips.
Not since the late 90's. Ever since then, I've had an unlimited plan...
