The one at work: every 2-4 hours (Covid cleaning schedule). Certain surfaces are 2 hours and others 4, but usually just go ahead and do all surfaces every 2 hours so I don’t have to try to remember which ones are which.
And then there was today, 1st day back from vacation… apparently the seal for the toilet was replaced earlier in the day but nobody cleaned up the mess that resulted until me. There was solid waste on all 4 walls. It took me about an hour to clean what is probably about a 9-square-foot bathroom.
@hchavers The practice in our household is to put down both the seat and the lid after use. This started as a deterrent for the kids (when they were toddlers) and the dog, but the habit has continued. It seems only fair that everyone needs to adjust the facility before use. Why should the default position favor one set of users?
We have 4. The main floor and master bathroom get the most use, so those get cleaned weekly. The boys bathroom about every other week. The basement bathroom hardly anyone ever uses? Gosh. Maybe once a month if I’m down there and thinking about it?
When my kid lived at home she cleaned all but the toilet weekly. She chose what she wanted to do from a list that included every single thing that need to be done to keep the house running. I split the list into what needed to done daily, weekly, monthly, less often than that, seasonal… and she had to pick a certain number from each list.
She also had pre-picked for her her own laundry as that had been a consequence in 4th? 5th? grade after she had been warned she would have to do if she kept throwing all her clean clothes in the dirty clothes when she cleaned up her room. And on that required list was that we both kept our own rooms clean.
I made that list when she complained over and over (as a teen) she was doing all the work around the house and I was doing nothing. The huge number of things left on the list after she picked surprised her.
wouldn’t you think that in these days of Covid that the toilet facilities should be cleaned after each use? why should I plant my fanny where some Covid afflicted person just planted their fanny. perhaps we all should be mandated to wear depends to avoid this situation?
I deep clean my bathroom once a month and then clean it on a weekly basis bc of my hair and towel dust that gets everywhere no matter how many times I wash the dam towels.
Well, the toilet about once every week to two weeks. I clean the sink every time I shave. The shower when I notice too much soap scum or about twice a year depending…so…
I can not say that I do not like cleaning, but I do not clean the house so often in general. And if we talk about the bathroom, I sometimes think about it once a month, maybe I’ll remember if I don’t forget. This is very bad for all things in the bathroom because they need care. Recently, I had to spend money to buy a new toilet because the old one had a cracked sink due to dirt. I chose by the way spam a model that needs less care and which is more resistant. After this incident, I began to devote more time to cleaning because I do not want to systematically spend money on something that has deteriorated because of my lack of care.
You should thoroughly clean your bathroom at least once every week. This involves cleaning the sink and toilet. Every two weeks or so, the floor and bathtub should be cleaned. Additionally, it’s crucial to spend money on a deep clean about once a month.
I don’t do a really thorough cleaning, but it needs a sweep and damp-mop on a weekly basis.
Only when the toilet overflows!!
/giphy toilet overflow
@IndifferentDude Hate when that happens.
@IndifferentDude @mehcuda67
Sure does make it easy to mop though. Don’t need a bucket, just a wringer!
A thorough clean every couple weeks but spot cleaning as needed. I find myself cleaning the inside of the sink every few days.
Wife keeps them spotless. Bless her heart.
I just go in the neighbor’s back yard. Good enough for their dogs…

Hey, I put down the seat. Take what you can get.

@hchavers @macromeh This is the most mature and objective response I’ve ever heard to this age old issue.
As needed.

3 full baths and one half bath. The housekeeper does a thorough cleaning every other week. We do quick wipe downs as needed in the interim.
My wife does it weekly and I love her dearly for it.

You… uh, you’re supposed to clean them?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
that’s why i have a housekeeper

@Magelans
ahhhhh… the Bots have attacked…
@Magelans
Somehow I don’t think I want to use your bathroom to wash my hands if your sink is part of the toilet! COVID be damned…

They’re actually pretty cool. The grey water from your hand washing fills the tank for the next flush.
@RiotDemon
OK, I can see how that is ecologically a good idea, but it seems like it would be hard to use due to having the toilet bowl in the way…
When my wife tells me too
