How much meh shit have you bought that you have never used
24We just moved and in cleaning out the old house and packing things away, much to my surprise and my wife’s anger, discovered lots of things purchased from meh that were either in unopened boxes or never used. Now if I ever mention the word meh (also morningsave) my wife comes after me with a broom.

Lol.
yes too much. Found a couple Christmas gifts I had bought for people and forgot about after Christmas. Bummer.
But then again, it’s kind of exciting for you to find these things you’d bought but forgotten about, right?
@moonhat
Glad to know i’m not the only one!!!
Most of it, except the shirts and the couch bought from MorningSave.
@Ignorant
What happened, did you leave the couch unopened in it’s box, tuck it out of the way on a shelf or somethin for a rainy day and then just forget about it?
…don’t you just hate when that happens!!
@Lynnerizer the shirts and couch are used, most other stuff not.
Of the orders I’ve placed, other than the stuff that came in a Fuk/IRK, I’ve attempted to use most. Probably 1/3 of it was DOA. Of the stuff that actually worked, a portion of that broke in short order.
The drones for the most part.
All of it.
(Not technically true - most of the stuff I bought and never used was from Woot. I’d mostly learned my lesson by the time I came here.)
I’ve used most of it. I’ve bought some like @moonhat for Christmas or birthday presents and then forgot about them.
I’m going to get this shit organized in 2020.
@therealjrn woo! 2020 get shit done gang!
I try to stick to only buying the useful stuff, but I admit probably half of it is still sitting in the box - I did check out what I had accumulated and I will actually use them someday. Pretty sure. I hope.
All of it; well except for the Fuko/Fuku. That is a real crap shoot
The only thing I’ve bought that I haven’t used is the Trackrs. I’m honestly not sure what I will ever do with them.
On the other hand, I see tons of thing I have bought here that were terrific and I still use today or would buy again in a heartbeat:
Can we get more old food for sale here please?
@zachdecker The gummy bears were good.
@zachdecker Ah yes, that classic Toshina. I like to use mine when I’m not using my iFone or watching my Panisonik. Good shit!
@zachdecker Put the trackrs on your remote controls. Never lost in the couch again!
Way too much. Because if one Banana Boat speaker is good five is better. But a lot of nights I look at the sale and already have one or two floating around the house somewhere. I’m working on just saying no.
@sammydog01 Funny you should say that since I have a BB speaker sitting on the floor right in front of my desk that I pulled out of my office closet a couple of days ago in a “time to get organized” moment! (OTOH, I did love the speaker I used until the kids decided to try to use it as a beachball and it finally died after too many shocks, being taken to the bottom of the pool to watch it shoot up to the surface or left under the waterfall.) This one will be in the pool this summer… if I don’t put it back in the closet and “lose it” again. Or I may use it as my ‘outside work speaker’ since I tend to forget my mp3 players and speakers outside when I finish up at the end of the day. Have lost a few to the elements due to that.
@sammydog01
I really regret not buying one of those. The idea that a round, non-waterproof, floating, Bluetooth “sound system” made by sunscreen company Banana Boat exists never ceases to make me smile.
Even the box looks awesome. The fake splash mark in the shape of a music note. The overenthusiastic family. The terribly Photoshopped image in the bottom right corner of it sitting on a wood patio. “The sun is out, you should be too!” written in whatever font that is.
MEALS! DEALS! EELS! AWESOME!
@chienfou I used mine the way they did in the product video with corn starch and water. I should dig it out and play with it again. It was really cool- you can get little weird towers rising out of the puddle of you mix it right.
Most of what I have bought has been birthday or Christmas gifts for family. Almost nothing for myself.
Ship most of my unusable shit from Fuko aka IRK to my daughter who sells it on e-bay. Unbelievable what people will pay for some of that crap. Got a new Martian smart watch in one of my IRKs, sent it to my daughter and she sold it for $ 85 on e-bay. Only problem is that she never sends me any of the proceeds. Have been buying and sending her the mystery boxes from Morning Save. Keeping the IRKs for myself.
@Felton10 Man… I wish my irk had contained a Martian watch. I was so bummed when I tried to change out the analog watch battery and totally buggered it up!
Minus the shirts, less than half.
As for the shirts … well, the catshirts are in the wear pile, along with several of the thrift shop finds. The others, like most of the meh logo ones, haven’t moved in
monthsyears. This excludes shirts from Mediocritee; many of those have made their way into wear rotation.I don’t buy that much; what gets bought almost always gets used (or gifted as intended). Wear the Stealth and FUKOBUKURO shirts all the time, supplanting the other 2 (3?) Meh shirts. Only ‘leftovers’ are parts of multipacks: still have 1 or 2 Stormtrooper water bottles, an infuser bottle, and an LED lantern. Happy with almost every purchase (see below).
Have 2 unused foam knee pillows
@compunaut Try the knee pillow(s). I really find mine helps to keep my knee(s) less sore. Also, my dog thinks they are great for chewing on – glad the cover washes easily.
@phendrick DO use them. Accidentally purchased TWO sets of 2, hence the extras.
About half, probably. I’d like to think I’m getting less stupid, but I figure the products are getting less appealing.
@InnocuousFarmer I think Meh is changing. For one thing, I miss all the cute goat pictures that used to get posted. I think it has been months since I saw a pic or gif of a goat here. (The 4-legged kind, to be clear.)
Does piling it up in a spare bedroom count as using it?
@warpedrotors - Just refer to it as “decor”.
Plenty, during early daze.
Now I try hard to purchase only items I really need right this second.
Plus t-shirts and schwag sometimes.
I’ve used everything I bought at least once. The only exception is some of the really random shit in a Fuko, but overall even those have mostly been useful.
Wait, I can think of one exception. I bought a random assortment of collectable cards on a lark. After opening and laughing at the idea that someone would collect Saved By the Bell characters I’ve not found a use for them.
Most of the stuff gets used pretty promptly. Some stuff I buy as intended gifts, then forget I have them. Then find them again and give them to someone else or for the next occasion. when I look thru my orders I can see that a lot of it is still in use, or has been upgraded/replaced. Can’t say I have gotten anything that was DOA (except maybe the tracker pixels but that was a given)
Oh wow, just realized I never used the beer and wine kits I bought. I need to get on that… soon.
By total number of orders or total number of items?
The barely exploited stack of TrackR Pixels, box full of LED fidget spinners and a couple of orders of batteries really screwed up my percentages by item.
Also Two-for Tuesdays often lead to One-for The Closet.
IRKs and Mehrathons are catalysts of chaos.
Christmas and a couple of well-situated birthdays helped me unload quite a bit, but I just now remembered a stack of untapped metal 3D models that may become Easter presents. Unless I forget them again.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The two iPad mounts don’t get any use. Neither does the AlcoHAWK breathalyzer (surprisingly) and the TrackR thingamabobs. Pretty much everything else, even fuko contents, get put into service or snagged by my family.
most of it really.
not the AlcoHAWK breathalyzer (surprisingly) and the TrackR thingamabobs like @james_hardiman.
bought too many hairbrushes
and way too many hand grimes wipes.
threw away lots of leaky batteries
and still have oh so many tiny Christmas bags.
and those silly light bulb gloves that are incapable of being useful.
there is mostly likely more that I can’t think of right now.
but the poo pourri is all gone!! lol
Pretty much everything gets used. The rubbish I buy gets uses for gag gifts.
Though it IS going to take a long time to work through the case of cough drops, but that one I can blame on Her.
Only a little bit. Most of it stuff that I bought for my wife, and she ended up not using. There’s a lot of it that we’ve lost and can’t find anymore though. I’d be using that Immersion blender if I could still find it. Would still be using the little rc helicopters if they still worked.
I have a few spare micro drones still in box that were for kids presents. Some rope lights I may never use but thought I could think of something for at the time. That’s about it. Everything else was used and once you get off VMP shipping kills it/the impulse goes. I’ve almost bought a few things without but it’s been a long time.
On the other hand somewhere I have a pretty big box of various sizes of monkeys… Not sure how that happened…
I can relate to 90% of these posts and have tears running down my cheeks. Not sure how that happened…
Never opened, yet:
Ninja Foodi 8-Quart
Tzumi Steadygo Smartphone Stabilizing Gimbal
Gentek T7m Bluetooth Earbuds
Chef’s Circle Digital Kitchen Scale
Waspcam Rox Series 4k Action Camera
Weber Idevices Mini Kitchen Bluetooth Thermometer
Motorola Bluetooth Headset (opened 1)
Purepedi 8-In-1 Manicure And Pedicure Kit
Foodsaver Vacuum Sealing System
Silicondust Hdhomerun Prime
Most of the shit I bought for the wife 'cause she NEEDED it. I’m gonna quit asking her if she wants anything here.
@Kyser_Soze Well the kitchen gadgets seem useful if you commit to them.
Otherwise it’s just an unused treadmill.
Aft least you don’t have a juicer. All the sugar non of the fiber. Morons
@Kyser_Soze Sheesh, that looks kind of like my list. I think it’s time to quit this place, at least to relinquish the $5/mo VMP. I don’t buy from here, or the T-shirt place, or Morningsave, either any more. And I suppose, for the amount of options available to me on Casemates, the shipping savings would end up as a wash, at best. Meh, wow, have you become meh. And that makes me really sad.
Almost everything I got has been christmas or birthday presents for others. No clue if they aren’t using them (or have re-gifted them) though. Now my sister likely has not used all the flashlights I have given her as she collects them - as in “you can never have too many flashlights”. I guess she anticipates the coming of the Armagideon in her life time. Or that a force 5 hurricane will be a direct hit on a flyover state or something. The three things I got for me I needed and so used. The stuff in the fuku’s, fuko’s and irk’s - some has been given to people who want the items, some came broken so was tossed, some has been sold (enough that I made marginally more than the cost of the buying them - well except for the last one where 100% of the items, except the bag, were already tagged as defective and actually were broken). A few things I have kept and used. Bags have been used.
