"Chinese Democracy" was great as far as I am concerned. Saw them on that tour and it was a terrific experience. As for the reunion - I am not so interested in how it will sound live, as in if they will be able to create another worthy album to top off the discography.
@matthew The first CD I bought was Appetite for Destruction back in 1988 (I think?). It was also the first time my parents ever said, "Can you turn that down, please?"
There is no fucking way that they can recreate the old magic, but I want to see them try. They are probably my favorite band, but I would welcome the trainwreck for lulz. If they did something good, even better. Win - win.
Axl's response: I mean, listen, we're talking about practice, not a show, not a show, not a show, we talking about practice. Not a show. Not, not … Not the show that I go out there and die for and play every show like it's my last. Not the show, but we're talking about practice, man. I mean, how silly is that? … And we talking about practice. I know I supposed to be there. I know I'm supposed to lead by example... I know that... And I'm not.. I'm not shoving it aside, you know, like it don't mean anything. I know it's important, I do. I honestly do... But we're talking about practice man. What are we talking about? Practice? We're talking about practice, man.
Slash is a great guitarist...Id be curious what they sound like making some new music...Axel Rose just cant seem to get it together tho...but I would give it a try...how bad could it be?
I didn't see the "I'll believe it when I see it" button. Them saying they are getting back together and actually creating new music together are two totally different things.
Yaknow, I can't say that I'm heavily invested either way, but I enjoyed Appetite for Destruction and consider much of it great, classic even.
I tend to think that it was a moment that can't be replicated, but I'm not of the school that insists that such dreams (even if they prove to be delusional) shouldn't be pursued.
Though Slash strikes me as having better things to do with his time and I've heard that Axl's a narcissistic dick (though I don't expect that that's uncommon for the role he fills).
One thing: am I the only who thinks that the whole "where do we go" bit had more to do with not knowing where to take the lyrics? "What next? Fuck if I know. No, seriously, where do we go now? Just go with it." And the rest is musical history. Seriously, the lyrics feel unfinished. And "where do we go?" like scat but with real words.
I still love this song, ridiculous though it may be.
In their prime, Axl Rose was still a whiny bitch that doesn't care about his audience. Look up Metallica Riots and find out the "legacy" they've left for their shows.
Seeing them live is a hard pass for me - even if we could go back to the 90s to see them.
Don't forget Slash puts on a great show and has never stopped gigging. You could've seen him countless times in small venues for $40 instead.
Wait... which ones are guns and roses now?
@baqui63 The ones with the Guns, Roses, Axl and Slash.
@thismyusername
@damonmeza This is the real magic coming to coachella
@damonmeza @thismyusername Magic, you say? No, this is magic.
@damonmeza glad someone got it :)
@joelmw
@thismyusername Nice work, goat.

@rileyper annnd I'm going to have that song stuck in my head for a while.
@rileyper +10 for the homeboy Quaker, -2 for speling. :-B
Once a band breaks up it's over. Give it up.
@ThatsHeadly said no recording industry executive, ever.
I like Guns 'N' Roses a lot! But the odds of their best work being in front of them are not great.

@DaveInSoCal A worthy album. And a Rockwell moment. Sort of.

This band you ask about could be practicing, as we speak, in my bedroom as I settle in for sleep and I would not give one butt hair about it.

Who?
@Deanmeh Not The Who, GNR.
Did somebody say Buns N Roses?

Yeah, I hear their first gig will be opening for The Smiths.
