The last 10 seconds were tough. I thought of stopping right at 1:30, but thought that may seem fishy so I took the pain and went for the extra 5 seconds.
C'mon, under a minute is crazy. I feel like you're not taking this seriously! Did you all not compete as kids enough to figure out how to win these kinds of games?
1) Lay down flat on your back. 2) Take 5 deep breaths before starting. 3) Close your eyes, think of something calming like ocean waves.
I was at 2m 17s, and I'm pretty sure I could get close to 3 if I kept trying.
When we were children, my brother and I would compete to see who could hold their breath the longest under water at the pool.
We would head to the deep end, take a few short fast breaths then a couple big deep breaths and hold under using the ladder. We got up to about 3m30s before the lifeguards got sick of our game and made us quit trying to drown ourselves.
Sitting still at work just now got up over 2 minutes on the first go.
Got to 55 seconds. I might could do better.
67 seconds
Don't hold your breath too long folks
@jmoor783 Ouch. Hope she was okay.

I put my breath into a balloon and then held it in my hands indefinitely, until I got bored.
@curtise technically, you were holding formed, stretched latex with your breath in it.
I've been sick; I think I can do better under normal circumstances.
@jqubed Feel better.
92s. i'm actually kind of surprised.
Is it valid to breathe out air, but not breathe in? For some reason that helps.
@dave yeah. You're still technically not inhaling air. Totally kosher.
@juststephen blast... I thought that would be against regulation.
What I gotta bring my own clock to this challenge? Fuck that, I'm just gonna guess. At least 2 hours.
Has a loved one died? Have you suffered physical complications from holding your meh breath? Call me.

1:28! I really wanted to go the extra 3 seconds to move up a bracket but everything started going fuzzy!
Fun Fact: Sperm whales can hold their breath for over two hours when diving.
I am not sure how long I was out after I passed out trying
1:35.

I'm pretty cool.

I tried holding it, but it just kept slipping through my fingers.
I stopped at 1:22, but could probably have pushed it to 1:30ish. I'm at work and didn't want to risk passing out at my desk.
