@RiotDemon Also some ice, to clean and sharpen the blades. You can freeze vinegar in ice cube trays to clean and destank your garbage disposal and sharpen the blades.
Clean. I didn’t know people don’t wash blenders. Rinse it out, then add soap and water and run it a bit. rinse it again. If you do this right after use, it’ll be clean no problem. We run it in the dishwasher every 10 or so uses as well.
Is it common for people to not clean their blenders?
/giphy Clean your blenders, people!
@awk I hope not. I’ve never seen anyone not clean it thoroughly after use just like any other kitchen thing you put food in.
I still need to buy a jar for my $6 Blendtec. Otherwise my sub-$10 Kitchenaid is clean.
When done blending your stuff, put water and soap. Blend that.
@RiotDemon I’ll have to try that!
@smyle as long as you do it right away before the stuff dries, it works great. No point in sending it through the dishwasher.

@moondrake chicken bones and lemon joy work well too.
@RiotDemon Well, as long as you’re not making something thick like cashew cream.
@RiotDemon Why not the dishwasher? That way it gets clean and dry
@compunaut do dishes not dry when flipped upside down?
I barely ever use my blender, so it’s clean as a whistle.
If you add enough Tequila to your Margarita it should be sterile.
95% of my blender usage is for pesto. It looks clean, but at this point is fully imbued with the delicious scent of garlic and basil.
@ebam that seems like an added benefit, actually.
@AiliaBlue so long as we keep making more pesto, it is!

The instructions that came with my Blendtec actually say to blend with soap and water.
