How do I upload a short video from my phone or computer?
1I have a 5 second video I want to upload. I took it with my phone and sent it to my computer. Is there a way to upload it directly or do I have to use some other route like uploading it to youtube and then putting that url (I’d prefer not to go that route)?

Need to use a 3rd party video hosting site.
@Ignorant Thanks!
/giphy intrigued
@tinamarie1974 Not worth being intrigued about. I was just going to add it to the goat thread where that big machine digging the hole hit my 4th story window sill. Had stills of it close to my other window but then it moved to my other window that sticks out. It hit it more than once, chipped the brick, and I turned on the video after it hit it going into place and caught it on video as it hit it on the way back. Sorry not more exciting.
Now a video of your new puppy that would be exciting… yes?
Make it into an animated gif… Unless you need sound.
You can upload it (or paste the URL) to ezgif.com and then convert it to a gif. Lots of options, optimizations, and adjustments.
Once you have the gif, you save/download it to your phone/computer.
Then you upload the gif file in the image upload window.
Try streamable dot com
Personally I would use the drive feature that comes free when you establish a gmail account. Easy drag and drop upload from a computer or for most Android phones it becomes a share option for the file when the phone is signed into your gmail account. From there you have a variety of options on who (single invite to public access) can view or download in this case your video. All that is needed is to share the url that Google provides.
I wouldn’t go the GIF route as the quality is degraded into an early 1900’s flip show, jerky motion and all.
@Dog19026 can’t people who view the video see who the Google account belongs to? What if you want to remain anonymous?
@medz Get a VPN, an off-source secure email address, develop a whole bunch of aliases and use a file repository in New Zealand. What are we talking about what kind of subjects are there that secrecy becomes an issue? You should probably join one of those “funny” IRC chat rooms if that’s the case anyway. BTW there is no way to completely hide if it’s on the Internet like it or not.
@Dog19026 The easy answer is to create a burner google account that doesn’t have any real personally identifiable info on it. Otherwise, when you link to a google drive video on meh that is stored on your primary google account, people on meh forums would know your name and such.
@Dog19026 @medz
that happened the other day with the proof of tattoo for an irk.
@Dog19026 @Kidsandliz yep. Dangerous what with all meh users with feet-in-mashed potatoes fetishes…
@medz Brother if you think you can hide from Google you have another thing coming. The hills have eyes.
@Dog19026 nah. Just trying to hide from meh users.
Flickr accepts videos. Pretty sure Imgur does, too. They’re both free services. Not sure if you can embed them as a video in this forum unless it’s from YouTube, but you can link to them.
