The 10kg means 10 karat gold. The diamond is only 0.08 carats. Yes, they are two totally different words that sound that same and yet mean totally different things in the jewelry world.
@Fuzzalini Aww, don’t spoil my dumb joke.
If you buy that, you should also pick up the the Preparedness Kit for the inevitable aftermath.
@2many2no if only it was Mountain House® stroganoff…
I prefer to think of myself as reasonable.
You can go here for the gown, only $199-$299 ollies
@callow
/youtube safiya wish wedding dresses
@RiotDemon That’s still $4 more than I paid for my wedding dress which I wore again
@callow nice! My wedding dress was not cheap compared to these, but still cheaper than most. Too bad the marriage failed. The dress is still beautiful though. I wish I could give it to someone to enjoy, but I’d feel like I’d be giving them bad luck.
@callow @RiotDemon I loved my dress too and it was less than $300… I never ever understood those brides that spent thousands on a dress. So crazy. I did donate it to Brides against breast cancer afterward though. Someone better have bought and enjoyed that bad boy.
@callow @RiotDemon I rented mine from a costume shop
Yeah…NO
We are pretty cheap these days, putting hubby through doctorate program. Met him at the end of bachelors, feels like a long haul. Purchased our rings through Amazon, but mine is even cheaper than woot with mere cubic zirconia. However, that said, as soon as he starts making some money I am going to get a real ring. And not from Woot.
@Dakini just keep repeating that to yourself
@Dakini Also you may need to tell your hubby on occasion to repeat after you, “There are good reasons why I decided to get a PhD. The fact that I can’t think of any of them at the moment is not good enough reason to quit”. If he hasn’t hit them already, trust me there will be, um, “days”.
We only had one moment, but he got back on track the next moment. He is on a fellowship at the moment, and working steadily on his dissertation. He has two years after this one of his GA but he feels he will be done with his novel within a year (his Phd is in Literature). He is already applying for jobs so he can have his resume squared away. I don’t worry about that man’s dedication and perseverance one bit.
I’m holding out until meh sells wedding rings with built in Bluetooth speakers.
