@simplersimon I think it’s “weren’t,” technically, since you’re using the subjunctive to express a conditional situation. Most people ignore that the subjunctive exists in English these days, though, so I think unless you’re writing a formal paper, you’re okay to use “wasn’t.”
@jitc@simplersimon Most people these days pretty much ignore proper English altogether …
(try to find an ad or commercial where the writer understands what an adverb is).
And don’t get me started on how the supposed educated switch I and me (we/us, he/him, …) usage.
Glad I wasn’t a professor of English – I would have slit my wrists long ago.
Dust and humidity give me problems. Plus I can only breathe through one nostril at a time so I think that’s part of the reason why I am always feeling hot.
I don’t know if I suffer from allergies so much as the sheer fucking volume of pollen this year. You get that much of any inert fine dust in your eyes, you’re going to react in some way.
They’d be fine if hadn’t committed to these cats that I committed to which if I hadn’t my allergies would be fine
@afullbeard That was like a doppler effect of redundancy.
Polyester gives me a rash. That’s my only allergy, and I love it. Rock solid excuse to not have to wear crappy clothing.
My body is pretty good about not killing itself in response to harmless protein chains. Man, that would suck if it weren’t. Wasn’t? Time to Google.

Allergies not too bad as long as I keep my distance from my mother-in-law.
My doctor sat me down after my allergy testing and said, “well, it’s gonna be faster to tell you what you’re NOT allergic to…”
I used to be way more allergic & hayfevery when I was a kid, they decreased a lot.
@moonhat jealous. mine went the other way, and seem to keep getting worse. blasted human body.
Bad enough that I forgot to hit the “meh” button yesterday
I’ll be fine after spring pollen season is over. But right now, the coughing and sneezing all night is sleep reducing.
I’m fukin dying
Now that I’m back to living in a city (Chicago) my allergies are a lot better than they were when I lived in the suburbs. All those fucking trees.

Why is everything yellow?
