Terrible…My cat(Sophie)is 12 years old and just started limping… I’m glad she has had a great life it just makes me sad cause she was my sons cat and he moved out across the country, and she’s all I have.
@Kidsandliz@ragingredd well all of that. Obviously first. I’ve seen some of the cats take a fall from the upstairs so like 14 ft to hard wood. They rotate fast But they aren’t 12. I panic a little and check on them when they calm down and I can find them.
Maybe also talk to your son? If you’re missing him? Like. I answer when my mom calls. I just. Don’t think to call people. It’s not how my brain is wired. most of the time I also don’t have much to say. Cause IDK. It’s not interesting? My limit is about on here.
I’m not a very social person so I don’t always parse things the same as other people.
But there were a lot of things I could have helped with if my mom had told me. IDK. Maybe entirely different with your situation. And even if it was the same maybe it’s not fair.
Maybe it’s just new and he’s focused on it. I still think it’s ok to talk about it.
@Kidsandliz@ragingredd that happened to my cat at about age 10. Brought him to a really nice cats-only vet. They felt around and moved his legs and said he will probably get better, which he did eventually. We never figured out what he did to get “injured,” he was indoor-only.
At that age even though we think cats are indestructible, they are just like us at an older age and can get joint and muscle issues more easily and not bounce back as quickly. Oh, to be a kitten again!
I did set up a low bench next to the bed so he had an easier way to get in and out of bed, but he didn’t always use it.
@ragingredd What happens when you test that leg or paw? Is there any reaction (because it hurts)? Feel the paw pad. Is it warm? That’s a good sign, means it’s still getting blood flow.
Are there any other signs? Discomfort, not eating, anything out of the ordinary?
Twelve is considered old for a cat (yeah, I know, I know…we’ve had cats live into their twenties). But cats do get arthritis. And just like us older folk, sometimes just twisting the wrong way brings on pain.
The combination of what ought to have happened for me today but didn’t (personal issue), and the implications of what did happen (national issues), makes this one of the worst days of my life to date.
@werehatrack technically we don’t know yet. On the political bullshit. But republicans have waged a long hard fight against people. Trying to turn them against their own interest and back to serfs for the rich. At a state level. And medle with election results. Mail in ballots are not fully counted yet. And maybe they got away with it. It was literally in their playbook. To gerrymander and put in corrupt laws and work their way up the chain.
I’m sorry about your situation. Id literally consider leaving the country at this point if I were you. And had the means.
Although. According to Trump and the supreme Court. Biden could just drone strike him.
Honestly, I’m able to see the humor in the absurd situation for now. I know bad things are coming, but useless to be too upset about them before they hit…
… also, dual-citizenship (and the ability to pick up a third if I need it) helps at a time like this, I have an out should things get really dangerous for me.
@OnionSoup it’s like reality show Season 2 was renewed!
My only other consolation is that my mother who died this year at age 95 would be happy. I’m still having to deal with her accounts and mail. She was getting 3-5 pieces of postal mail a week from Trump campaign, from RNCC, from Eric Trump, from Lara Trump. For a while I used their postage-paid envelopes to send back the stuff saying Deceased and Please Remove, but nothing could stop the barrage of Trump Mail to her street mailbox.
@pmarin she must have been in a swing state. I don’t think I got a single piece of political propaganda sent to me from either party (Presidential at least, I got state level stuff). I think this is the first time I’ve received zero Presidential junk mail.
@OnionSoup No it was Oregon. But it was all fundraising. Hence the envelopes to send in your checks. Old people like to use checks. Don’t know if she ever sent them any money. But once you got Elon Musk funding you, old people checks don’t matter much anyway.
@OnionSoup@pmarin My BIL (the one who’s still alive even though his body is riddled with cancer) told my husband that he felt really bad that he could no longer afford to send money to the red hat grifters. He even tried to explain it to them and the begging didn’t stop.
I’m pretty meh at this point. Fury, the kitty with lung cancer is still here, really no difference in symptoms since he was diagnosed about a year ago and at his last vet appointment in May (when we were told he probably had two months to live).
Jingles, the dog with congestive heart failure just caught this past summer, otoh, well, we took him in last Thursday since he’d been coughing a lot and his CHF is 40% worse. His furosimide (diuretic to keep the fluid draining from his lungs) dosage was doubled and he’s peeing more and the coughing has lessened quite a bit. The vet did advise a cardiologist because there are medications that can help, but the dosage is very specific. Well, that would be around $1K, Jingles is sixteen years old and there’s no guarantee.
I’m in the process of deleting all the data from my Twitter account. I will keep my account open because I want to save my name and not have someone pretending to be me. I have found being able to contact companies I deal with can be more productive when you take your problems public.
Going to get back to making shirts again. That was always fun. The first one on deck is a shirt that says “PETTY BITCH” to wear around the neighborhood.
Yes.
The correct answer is meh
At the moment I’m a pessimistic anxious mess.
I’ll hold out on answering the poll until later in the day…
TERRIFIC!! No more TV ads for something kinda, sorta important that ended yesterday. HALLELUJAH!!
/giphy HALLELUJAH!!
@IndifferentDude So it’s time to dump TV stock?
I think I accidentally shoplifted today. Going back tomorrow. Scanned points card but not credit card.
@Salanth I did that the other day, and it was a bag of rubber bands from homedepo. Ran out of hands, slipped into my hoody and forgot about it
Sometimes when I feel anxious and overwhelmed it makes me feel sleepy and that’s how I feel right now.

@ragingredd I’m so sorry! She’s a beautiful cat.
@ragingredd Take her to the vet. She may have hurt herself and you didn’t see it happen.
@Kidsandliz @ragingredd well all of that. Obviously first. I’ve seen some of the cats take a fall from the upstairs so like 14 ft to hard wood. They rotate fast But they aren’t 12. I panic a little and check on them when they calm down and I can find them.

Locking the doors and not coming out until everything has settled down. And grateful that everything can be delivered.

D) None of the above.
I woke up and was able to get vertical. Everything else is gravy.
@chienfou I read gravy as gravity.
@chienfou @Pavlov the gravy was leftover from the turkey forum earlier this week.
I feel like I did eight years ago.
@Pavlov except 8 years older…
Hopeless
I can’t believe Maine voted to keep their stupid flag.
@zachdecker I didn’t know about that issue. Maine is geographically furthest state from me at the moment (excluding Hawaii…)

I mean… much better finally but kind of weird for y’all to be asking about my BMs.
@mikey Well, here’s hoping you’re regular.
