holiday punch/drink/etc ideas?
2I’m looking for some kind of good punch type thing (preferably alcoholic or at least the option to add it in) to have out on thanksgiving. I’ve often done mulled wine and hot cider etc in the past and looking for maybe something punchlike this year. Know of any good ones?

@moonhat
Mulled mead, not regular wine
Wassail, which is not just mulled cider
this is similar to what I have made in the past

here is yet another variation

I like these. Kids love them too!
We follow the alcohol free directions and use Sprite instead of Rum. Tastes like Warheads sour candy to me.

@medz Frozen for slushies.
@medz Orange juice, Tahitian Treat, and grain alcohol. Do they still make Tahitian Treat?

This isn’t really the answer to your question, because I’ve never had it with alcohol. However this is a great spot to park this recipe, which I’m going to need to find readily before New Year’s:
Pop’s Punch
1 46-oz can/jug apricot nectar
1 46-oz can/jug pineapple juice
2 2-qt bottles Canada Dry
2 cans frozen orange juice
1 orange, thinly sliced
Put all the ingredients in a punch bowl, but hold off on the frozen OJ until just before the party.
@aetris this sounds really good. does it taste pretty apricotty??
@moonhat - not overwhelmingly - the apricot and pineapple are in equal parts, and you have the OJ too - it’s different from any other punch I’ve ever had, which are usually cherry-er. I’ll bet you could punch it up nicely with some dark rum or a liqueur.
Can’t go wrong with Alton Brown. The Wassail he made while controversial in some circles, tastes really nice (from my one exposure at a friends house); they said they followed the recipe exactly.

@duodec
