Do note that for every shirt sold after its debut day, $2 goes to the artist. And if you’re wondering what the differences are between the standard and American Apparel option, read here and here.
As much as I’d like to agree with Glenn - it being, you know, a pointless mainstream media bullshit, like olympics, baseball and (American) football, like anything Kardashian, Jenner and Bieber related - I can’t. We’re about to elect an intolerant fascist warmonger, who has a lot of misogynistic and homophobic scheming nutheads backing her. People should wake up.
I can’t have a civil, productive discussion about the election in my own house, and I don’t see how it could possibly be better with the weirdos here.

@sammydog01 I’ve been moving toward having civil and perspective-expanding discussions with my dad, about politics. I think it’s a matter of effort and practice: staying calm, making sure the pace of the conversation stays slow, listening very carefully, giving the other person the benefit of the doubt, etc.
@InnocuousFarmer
i think many or most of us try this, with a light touch, in our private lives. but limited time and energy on all sides. and most of us know that in the short run (such as pre-mid-Nov), few will alter their perspectives.
a few family members enjoy decades-long running jokes about being in cancel-out-each-other’s-vote marriages.
@f00l I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed anyone else trying what I described. I do see a fair amount of people either being opinionated or exercising a light touch, but I can’t think of a single time I’ve seen an effort at mutual understanding. I don’t like to think that is asking too much of people… it always bothers me to see everyone leap to the end, where basic communication is assumed to be a doomed cause from the get-go.
I always avoid political discussion, not just this election, as they are pointless. You aren’t changing anyone’s minds. You aren’t even going to make them think twice. Politics are just one of those topics that is driven by emotion and not logic, and therefore conversations are doomed from the start.
On top of that, almost every single person I know categorizes himself/herself as “middle-of-the-road”, even though 99% of them are fanatical one direction or the other. I am talking absolutely, positively CRAZY left or CRAZY right, yet they all think of themselves as moderate.
Has @Matthew been losing weight? Glen must be eating all the food.
/giphy looking good

I think that’s just stubble creating the illusion of a jaw, but thanks for saying so
@matthew That’s how I do it. #nochin
A debate debate.
I would play, but I already know what happens.

@matthew Awesome! But…
Buying Meh shirts at Woot leaves me squirmy…
@Omehgawd How so?

And if you’re feeling extra generous, buy one of @matthew’s shirt.woot designs while you’re at it.
As usual, Glen nails it.
Glen wins.

@serpent yeah… it’s the evil of two lessers.
@serpent people are starting to wake up
@serpent yawn

@DrWorm I occasionally have political conversations with people I think will agree with me but even that’s iffy. And I’m a moderate.
@sammydog01
So am I!

Regarding political opinions:
Stolen from another thread, cause I must:
The best way I can think of to sum up the debates? Dumpster fire.
/giphy dumpster fire

Wow, that gif… it’s perfect. A runaway burning truck.
I didn’t care that the dumpster was burning but I couldn’t turn away. this country is so fucked
