Only 100 percent Kona. None of this blend stuff that is mostly something else, but still sold at a premium price to tourists. And yes, good quality 100 percent Kona is very pricey!
I found the croissant bread this year and it makes the BEST grilled cheese in the world. If you’ve never tried it, you should. It’s also very good for toast.
I went to breakfast yesterday and they had French toast made from croissants with a raspberry sauce. It was really good. The croissant made a very good French toast.
I would too
Hawaii has a rich, vibrant deli community it would seem…
@therealjrn Well, yeah. They grow breadfruit.
@therealjrn @zhicks1987 and coffee! (not that it has anything to do with a deli)
@ItalianScallion @zhicks1987
Mmmm Kona

I don’t like Hawaiian style bread, far too sweet, so I would probably be a traditionalist here and go with regular old-fashioned bagels.
@OnionSoup just needs some egg/cheese/spam for a samich?
@unksol A slice of fried spam and a slice of grilled pineapple?
@werehatrack I do not have pineapple even in cans but. Sure. I would eat that

Yeah, the “real” bagels for me were the Lender’s Frozen Bagels from the 1970s. I would cook 'em in the broiler in the good old daze.
From my jaded POV, no-freeze bagels are “bread bagels”. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good, but my expectations are not the same.
Man, I wish I had checked Meh before I went to Aldi today.
It’s going on the list for the next trip though.
