Clicked. You are lucky I have internet at 1am on the road home to see my mom. Just got in at a friend’s house after a 608 miles drive. Have around 400 or so tomorrow. (the reason why so late will show up on the blame thread but not now I need to go to bed). Fortunately their internet password hasn’t changed but it must be 10mbps or something.
@Kidsandliz I hear you. About to do my own full day 600 mile trip (one way) for a 2 day stay, and then another full day 600 mile trip to get back home before Xmas.
Drive safe. Now is when the Highway patrol and traffic cops need to meet their year-end “production” quotas to meet “productivity” targets.
i.e. To answer the bean counter’s/management’s questions of “how do you know if a traffic enforcement officer is doing their job if they don’t write any tickets?”. Which is really code for "How much revenue is this officer bringing in from traffic stops, so we can raise the budget for next year to pay for those roaming 24x7 public surveillance systems (dashcams and bodycams) upgrades that now have AI and license plate/facial recognition.
@mike808 1087miles turned out to be how much one way. I am tired. Got hung up in 2 accidents far ahead of me (clear skys, clear roads, what the heck were they thinking? Oh and one sign electronic highway sign that said “Let it snow. Not here”) and hit a huge white rabbit which tore up the rabbit and my fender liner (which is now held on by lock ties). Poor baby. Saw speed cops mostly around the small towns. Average speed seemed to be, despite that, at least 80 in the fast lane. A ton of traffic later in the evening. I guess it was the lets leave town for christmas folks - hmm oh wait… LOL
