Heat Index/Wind Chill
2Just happened to catch the local weather and the forecast is; high 95 degrees, but it'll feel like 105 degrees.
NO!!! It will feel like 95 degrees!!! Only 105 degrees feels like 105 degrees!!!
And the same bullshit with that stupid wind chill factor!!! When it's 30 degrees it feels like fucking 30 degrees! And if the wind is blowing, then it feels like 30 degrees in the fucking wind!!!

While I agree with you I have also lived in Southern AZ as well as the DFW area...105 as indicated on a thermometer does NOT feel the same in both places.
Calm down for there is reason behind such numbers:

Cold is cold, hot is hot, and purple is purple.
@Barney Sometimes purple is blue. (Royal Blue?)
@christinewas Nope, purple is purple.
@Barney But are all nurples purple?
@cinoclav Only when properly given. Otherwise, they're just slightly red.

@Barney And sometimes cold will make you (or parts of you) turn purple.
What you're complaining about is a poor abbreviated explanation from the meteorological community. What they really mean with both terms is that your body will respond as if it was the "feels like" temperature instead of the actual temperature with normal humidity or wind. The saying of "it's not the heat, it's the humidity," or, "it's not the cold, it's the wind" actually have some basis in physiological responses.
@jqubed Yes, yes they do. That windchill factor matters in winter.
I experienced this in India. Went to the beaches of Goa for the weekend where it was 20 degrees cooler, but the humidity was off the charts. We sweltered the whole time. Returned to Bangalore and was outside the airport commenting how much better it was while waiting for our driver. Turns out it was 115 degrees F right then, but low humidity made it feel fabulous as the sweat evaporated instantly.
@Pamtha I went to GOA once...was not impressed except for some of the architecture. :)
@kc5rbq Our choices were limited as two American females traveling for work. The places we really wanted to go were not safe for us, and we did not want to stay in Bangalore over the weekend. I was content to be on the beach or poolside being comfortably buzzed. Odd things - the poolside waiter returned to apologize that the bucket of beer special was Budweiser. Apparently it is brewed in India, but is not well regarded. Did you drink Kingfisher?
@Pamtha I took one sip of an indigenous "beer" and got an instant migraine from the amount of formaldehyde used. They did substitute some whiskey that was MUCH better. :)
