I love that they changed my comment that said "mods that aren't dickbags" to "mods that are dickbags". It just shows the animosity the mods over there have towards Meh. It's sad, really

Well of course Woot is going to butt-hurt by meh.com -- I'm sure the team had a non-compete that said they would not start anything like Woot for X amount of time and I have no doubt in my mind that July 9th, 2014 was pretty close to when that time was up. It's not like Woot shouldn't have seen it coming, though. Just sour grapes on their part.

Woot has really gone downhill. I used to hit up something from there at least once a month. Now it seems its just like all very slightly discounted items that they couldn't sell on Amazon.

The best part about all of this...

All they're doing is drawing attention to Meh. They're basically saying they view Meh as a real competitor, and that they're incapable of rational decision making.

In a way, it's sad. There was a time when I would have defended Woot against just about anything. The community over there was second to none. In the past couple of years, they've bastardized everything good about that place, and now the community from there found a new home. I'd like to say that Rutledge was to blame, but Woot did this to themselves.

I guess I'm done there now. I really feel like they took things too far. Banning a competitor? Come on, Meh has one item for sale each day. Woot has 4000. How can anyone compete with that? :D

This is what I had to say. Still holding out hope there's some kind of misunderstanding, but if they keep the ban I'm done with Woot for good. It's not like they didn't screw up my last THREE (3) orders anyway.

I don't understand it. Are they afraid Meh will overtake Woot? Woot certainly has lost the magic as of late. I used to have to work to keep my black triangle on Deals. Now, my rep goes up and I do nothing, rarely even logging on. That's concerning.

Let's all remember that part of the problem with Woot these days was exemplified when comments about Darth Vader were deleted. It occurs to me that it's been a very long time since we did any theme-oriented postings. Shall we try, ummmm, Darth Vader stuff?
