Have You Seen My Fuku Bag?
5Somewhere on an American Airlines plane is my draw string Fuku filled with some quite wonderful candy I was bringing to my sister. It was a small jet and the cranky steward grabbed my backpack and little Fuku bag which he then crammed in the overhead. On my way off plane my backpack was returned, but in the excitement of arrival at my destination I did not realize until off plane he did not return my Fuku too. We went to the counter and supposedly they had someone check to no avail. But I think they checked my seat and not bin. And add to that all the bins have little red emergency packs in them, so it probably looked a bit like that at a glance. I fear it is lost forever βΉοΈAnd my sister did not get her favorite candy from our home town store for Christmas. πβΉ
TL;DR
If you find yourself on a small AA jet check the bin in the very back. You may find my Fuku bag and candy. Go ahead eat the candy but please return the Fuku bag.

That sucks. I have an extra drawstring Fuku bag I can send if you want it.
@Trillian Aww, that's very nice of you to offer a bag. Sorry you lost yours @ceagee.
@Trillian wow! that is very kind of you to offer. Still hoping that somehow it will turn up when I return Monday. I have this fantasy of being on the same plane and finding it in the bin. Or that someone turned it in. Crazy I know. If still no bag when I get home I'll take you up on your nice offer.
Merry Christmas ! ππ
This is a sad, sad story. If I had an extra, it would be yours. If I had extra candy, it would be yours too.
@mossygreen
What are you nuts. You dont just give away candy, unless you are in a windowless van, for free. A meh bag sure but never candy.
@jml326 ut oh..then what am I, with the number of free dumdums I have given away this month? I drive a Honda Fit, not a windowless van.
@mossygreen Thanks for the very considerate thoughts. Merry Christmas ππ
They "looked" for a book I set down on the seat and forgot. I was maybe 10 steps off the plane and the book apparently disappeared into thin air. I had one chapter left to read. At least it was a crummy story, bad enough that I never did get another copy to finish it.
Fortunately they did find my iPad when I did the same thing. I need to leash myself to my stuff when I fly.
maybe it'll wind up on one of those luggage auction shows
@ceagee my BAAAAH'd
Call American Airlines again after Sunday (very busy travel day) and ask again if anyone has found it. If it's just a "bag with candy in it" I doubt anyone took it; it's probably still there, like you said.
Wait.. no thats mine..
@Panegyric it is now early Monday morning in the American South. We have a strong tradition of calling off searches when Monday morning rolls around. I can't assist with follow up airplane employee questions because of a recluse disorder. But what I can absolutely do for you is send you a surprise Faku filled with local artifacts and candies at no charge to yourself. Will the strings draw properly? Will it make me sad when I open it? Joyous? Those aren't questions I can answer. It's just a service I will provide one time only free or charge because I read a comment string. The acquisition of unknown items from the American South might boil up and become a toxic plume winding like a cartoon serpent from my detritus to your nose - like an apple pie baking on the sill in a wooded grove only to be intercepted by a Yogi of some spiritual level. To me it's not knowing the first story in Sallinger's Nine Stories. I can read all th other 8 til the cows come home but without context I'm stuck in an elevator with Silvia Plath and she's pissed at Ted and not in the mood to discuss the oven cleaner peaking out from her brown paper shopping bag. Alert me at once and you shall be given a container of ghouls freed from there stationary bindings and remodeled into objects with power in the eye of the beholder. Draw strings and all. No planes shall be harnessed to cause further turmoil.
@ceagee you ever get your fuku bag back?
(for some reason i suddenly remembered this thread and had to know the answer)
@carl669 no. I think it is either still circling the skies, sitting in a lost and found bin that no one will ever look at, or someone found it and kept it and enjoyed the candy.
I thought maybe after all the holiday crazy travel was over I might call again. But I fear it is lost.
Happily, a very nice mehmber . who I don't know if they wish to be named, contacted me privately and offered to send me another fuku bag w/string. :)
Which also means that I should let @Trillian know that someone else will be sending me one and I know he/she will find another fuku bag less soul to share with. (Thanks again for the super offer Trillian)
@ceagee good to hear you're getting a replacement!
