Have you heard of Jet.com yet?
2I was just randomly checking out the interwebs and such and stumbled across an article about another Amazon buy-out individual like @snapster, who is starting up another e-commerce type website.
Marc Lore, who started up Quidsi Inc the parent company of diapers.com and soap.com, sold out to Amazon for $500 million and now is starting up a new website, Jet.com.
Interestingly enough, Jet.com has a referral based membership process in which if you refer members, you gain ranks, and thus new privileges. Process starts out at a free 6 month membership and goes up to a 100,000 stock option for the #1 insider.
Here's a link to the FAQ page of the website if you are interested in learning more about it. I'm intrigued enough right now to follow along to see what sort of deals I can access with my 6-month membership. Site is not up and selling just yet but already has over 138,000 members as of my sign up ranking 30 minutes ago.
For the sake of learning about the referral process, and in no way directly promoting the website :), here is my referral link...
From what I understand of the process, it works sorta like a pyramid scheme in which I increase rank with each referral and then continue to increase rank as you refer others...?
Might be worth a look, what are your thoughts, Mehricans?

I'm getting an error page after entering my email.
@Thumperchick Yea..the site is pretty glitchy right now. As long as you submitted your email, you should be on the list. You should have received an email with your current rank and your unique referral link.
Just a heads up, if this program does interest you, this referral process seems pretty wide open right now for upward progression. Not sure how many referrals I've had off my link however I've gone from 138,000 to just over 2,400 in just a few hours. Keep those referrals coming, who knows, maybe we can all get lifetime memberships.
You guys should actually use this link to sign up. It's better: https://jet.com/#/ji/ckrvb
@phatmass If you used my referral link then by all means, because it will help us both out!
@studerc I did!
@phatmass I think this link would be the best to use.. https://jet.com/#/ji/ckzs7 This way everyone gets points, since I signed up with @phatmass, and he is under @studerc
@kadagan apparently things have changed...earlier it seemed that referrals could compound, now however one only gains rank through each unique link...this when you went to @phatmass link, it helped only him instead of the collective whole...
@studerc what is the collective whole
@phatmass means me, then you, and then everyone that we thought could compound to give everyone a referral point
My thoughts are that I'm not gonna hate on anyone who checks this out, but I've got enough mildly desperate Internet vendors in my life, so one that will charge me just to look if I don't meet some random qualification doesn't make the cut.
I'm being That Guy and I don't care.
@editorkid You are like Hulk Hogan when he said no to a new grill invention--that eventually ended up going to George Foreman.
@editorkid Well, you get six free months just for signing up...worth it just to check it out. If the items are that great of a deal, spending like $50 for access and shipping might be well worth it...that's less than 12 months of $5 VMP shipping from here just for perspective...
I signed up but never got an email. Is this site ran by TOCCs!?!?
@phatmass It took a while for me to get my initial email, but it does come. You can always go to the main page and re-type in your email address and it should send you one with your current rank and referral link...
Used your link to sign up and am now off to spam my 'friends' on Facebook. I'm sure they'll appreciate it.
@PurplePawprints that's awesome. Spread the word!
I stay as far away as possible from pyramid schemes of any kind so I'll take a pass, but I hope y'all find it worth your time and effort.
@JonT turns out its not really a scheme. Just a way to encourage people to go out and promote their website to others to garner interest. There are just prizes for gaining more people.
@studerc that's what everyone involved in these schemes always says.
@JonT touche.
@JonT Yeah, I remember when I fell for this one scam called meh.com.
@JonT Hmm I thought the last pyramid was about 3800 years ago.
@studerc What prize bracket are you looking to be in?
@dashcloud well..there are still 27 days left but I just broke into the 5 year membership bracket at 945.
@studerc Awesome!
