@SIMBM - It was so HOT! I think it was 115 one day at the second one. Music was great, though. I was lucky enough to get free tickets from my radio friends. We also got to go to Woz's Christmas party. My wild youth.
@ceagee I remember reading about that in the papers. I was heading off to engineering school at the time. I don't I think I was cool enough to go to Woodstock.
The Radiohead concert at Parc Jean-Drapeau was almost an overnight event, if you count the wait to get off the island afterward.
@ceagee Most of the people who were really there learned about it from documentaries afterwards! I just put the 'Best of Woodstock' album on, and Country Joe is saying 'Gimme an F!' Ah, the music of my youth.
@beachbum Too crowded ( i guess that's the point, though) and commercial in 2002. I imagine now they have to have shuttles in to town or the campground venues from where you park your bike.
@narfcake Oh yeah, cons should count. MidAmeriCon, 1976, KansasCity. The Star Wars exhibit wasn't that big a draw; Mark Hamill was ready to answer all questions but only a few people wandered in. I mean, gold robots? Really?
I go to the Texas Renaissance Festival every year. I have camped there at least one night for the last decade. The last couple years I have been renting a camper trailer. Its a lot of fun.
BONNAROO!!!
I wasn't sure what the geek factor was around here until I saw the results this poll.... of which I proudly ascribe.
Burning Mehn
@Fish_Kungfu We should plan one of these.
I dream of going to Glastonbury. Some day.
Coachella - we went for one day and got to see Tool and RATM. We then drove home and showered and slept in our own beds. It was awesome.
FTX
No, but I've been in fire camps a few times.
@Dweezle I' ve been to lots of parties that had bonfires. Not the same?
@mick Nope, in these ones the fire is outside the camp, and you really, really don't want it to get in.
Does a VM Technology conference count???
Pennsic. Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. Want to get to Howthelightgetsin and Hay some day.
Monterey Pop and both of Steve Wozniak's US Festivals.
@KDemo First US Concert here as well. I missed two acts out of all of them.

My wild youth.
I once watched a documentary on Woodstock. Does that count ?
@ceagee I remember reading about that in the papers. I was heading off to engineering school at the time. I don't I think I was cool enough to go to Woodstock.
The Radiohead concert at Parc Jean-Drapeau was almost an overnight event, if you count the wait to get off the island afterward.
@sligett It was before my time. But I thought I should watch and see what it was all about.
@ceagee Most of the people who were really there learned about it from documentaries afterwards! I just put the 'Best of Woodstock' album on, and Country Joe is saying 'Gimme an F!' Ah, the music of my youth.
I went to two phish festivals back in the 90's. The Clifford Ball in upstate NY and The Great Went in Limestone, ME. Tons of fun!
I sang in the Berkshire Choral Festival once. Does sleeping in a prep school dorm count?
How about a 100th anniversary Boy Scout encampment? It was in one of the massive grass parking lots for the NASCAR race track.
I've always wanted to go to Sturgis. Maybe someday.
@beachbum this would be the only one i could get behind. Even then I'd rather just stay in a hotel
@beachbum Too crowded ( i guess that's the point, though) and commercial in 2002. I imagine now they have to have shuttles in to town or the campground venues from where you park your bike.
Does San Diego Comic Con count? The only way to get into some of the events is to camp out in line for the night.
Years back, I ran into an online acquaintance who's SDCC lodging was "casa de Ford Escort". Even back in the 90s, a hotel room ran $100+/night.
@narfcake Oh yeah, cons should count. MidAmeriCon, 1976, KansasCity. The Star Wars exhibit wasn't that big a draw; Mark Hamill was ready to answer all questions but only a few people wandered in. I mean, gold robots? Really?
holy hell,
judging from this poll, people that come to meh.com are fucking LAME.
y'know what? YOU GUYS sound miserable.
@talkingbeatles I think Meh needs to sell some cheap tickets to one of these sorts of festivals.
@talkingbeatles They're just radically self-expressing their hatred for festivals.
@talkingbeatles not miserable, just..... meh.
@talkingbeatles meh liserables
I do several music festivals a year here in Florida. Getting ready to go to one in a few weeks in fact. Love them.
Stagecoach.
I've been to etc. but not to a big multi-day camp-out festival, Burning Man, or Coachella.
Went to Burning Man twice. Enjoyed it both times. I may go back if I knew people there.
I go to the Texas Renaissance Festival every year. I have camped there at least one night for the last decade. The last couple years I have been renting a camper trailer. Its a lot of fun.
