Has the Fuku/IRK been ruined?
9I realized today that I don’t worry much about getting here right at 9pm anymore, cuz not only do the Fuku/IRKs show up over and over again, I’ve already won a couple of them and thus the excitement is gone.
What can Meh do to bring back the fire? How can we rekindle the magic? Do we need to book a long weekend in a hotel room and bring nothing but silk rope and candy corn?

I bet they found it in a dumpster behind a thrift storebizarre stuff it added to the entertainment. And of course the days where there a bunch of people each time that hit the jackpot rather than just a couple added to the suspense/fingers crossed hoping…Maybe some day meh again will have really good stuff leftover to put in again or go on a search and rescue for some.@Kidsandliz I do miss the impressive effort to ship large dumb things.

I don’t think he’d sue the costume maker, either.
And he had no issue with Eddie Murphy’s “Mr. Robinson” character because it aired late at night.

Often when I’m feeling extra down in the dumps. I reflect on the fact that I’ve only won one fuku zero IRK’s and zero BOC’s . And it’s not because I didn’t try, believe that!
I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. Very depressing.
I like the fact I have a shot in hell now…don’t ruin that for the rest of us!
For some, the excitement is in the chase. Otherwise, hunters would stop hunting, athletes would stop competing and nobody would care about anything. Stop trying to spread the G-23 Paxilon Hydrochlorate. You might not like what it does to the 0.1% of us! Miranda!

I used to get Fukus most of the time, but now I never get them because for some reason I get a CAPTCHA and I don’t think some others do?

Everybody does get a CAPTCHA, but based on some criteria known to Google, sometimes one can get just a check box for said CAPTCHA instead of having to identify pictures of bicycles or storefronts. It probably has to do with known history and maybe being signed into a Google account, and if you are a constant history clearer or browsing in private you’ll more likely get the full Monty.
I installed CAPTCHA to save my fellow robots from wasting money on this crap.
The IRK during a mehrathon does come up multiple times throughout the day, but in total it seems like roughly the same quantity as when they did Fukus all at once at changeover.
It’s a little easier to get one* because instead of 50,000 simultaneous hits at a known time, there are fewer people hitting the site at the given times. But the math of IRKs available versus total Meh customer base is relatively the same, give or take.
* - it’s easier for Meh regulars who stick around and refresh the site maybe obsessively, because you’re likely around for most of the offerings.
If the thrill is gone for you, it makes a tiny hole for someone else who still enjoys the hunt and the score. Meanwhile, more people get to participate in the hunt, the same number succeed, and Meh probably generates more excitement the way they do it now versus having a three second sale and 23:59:57 of a dead site. Plus they sell a lot of odds and ends that day too.
Could they do something different and maybe even more exciting? Sure, and one day they probably will. But is it ruined? Hardly.
They have certainly changed along with mediocres business model. I used to get random cool stuff, even a pallet of trip glasses. The last one I got a broken air fryer and a couple women’s makeup related things. It seems like the fukirks are just a clearing box of morningsave returns.
Edit… For clarification not necessarily a business model change but with all of the extra outlets for their goods.
@jaybird cool is in the eye of the beholder… What one person thinks is useless crap is another person’s great score. Afaik they have always been made up of the crap they can’t sell that accumulates, whether that be returned stuff or enough trip glasses to start a sizable cult.
