Happy Thanksgiving meh community!
61Remember when we asked you about your favorite charities back in the beginning of the month?
There was a reason for that.
The Customer Support team gets a “fun” budget a few times a year. Sometimes we use this for prizes. Sometimes we buy more stupid games to play with you on Jackbox. Sometimes we send people a hundred of whatever broke as a replacement. Most of these things don’t end up posted in the forum.
This year, we were able to plan ahead a bit and use a good chunk of that budget to donate to some of the charities near and dear to our community.
Here are the causes you supported, by supporting us:
- St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - $1,000
- Carter Center - $1,000
- Doctors Without Borders - $1,000
- Donors Choose - $1,000 (Donor’s Choose chose a project for us.)
- FSH Society - $1,000
Thank you for being the wonderful, diverse, outspoken, interesting, generous people that you are and for choosing to share this little corner of the internet with us.

They seem like pretty great charities. I wish St Jude’s would use more of it toward the actual cause. But they’ve gotten a lot better! You can check charities ratings and financials here: https://www.charitynavigator.org with the accountability and access to their financials charities are getting much better at visibility and more of the money is going to the actual cause instead of the overhead of the charity.
@sohmageek all 5 of these charities have a score of 95% or higher on charity navigator.

Man, I wish I’d seen the post about recommending worthy causes. I’ve got several. Ah, well… Better luck next year! More than anything, it’s the giving that’s important. Thanks for contributing some of your wealth, meh. Most of us are very fortunate. Sharing it feeds the soul.
