Oh boi, oh boi, oh boi!! I hope moms box had a treat dispenser. Peanut butter treats as far as the eye can see.
Mine is supposed to be delivered today (according to Fed Ex) so I hope mine is similarly loaded. I’d go out on a limb, and say your IRK was not very Meh!
Great haul-mine is out for delivery today-a day earlier. Lets hope the early bird catches the worm.
Received mine today! A red bag, A 20 pc package of KN95, A 2pc set of “rapid chargers” (have not tested, can neither confirm or deny), a 5 pk of Trackrs. And unfortunately someone forgot it was supposed to be full of instant regret and threw a decent set of silverware with caddy. Amz currently sells it for 60 if they had any. Almost a perfect IRK. Maybe next time.

One hardcopy of a no-longer-confidential email to a Mercatalyst staffer, with a ziplock attached containing some indecipherable plastic bits that appear to be part of something that is unrelated to the picture on the hardcopy.
The purse is a near miss because the matching wallet is not quite the kind I’ve been looking for; it has just six slots for annoying pieces of plastic, and I need one that will handle at least a dozen. And the purse is way bigger than I want to lug around regularly, in part because one that size will accumulate mass just by existing.
As for the chapbook, if I had any suitable pregnant friends, it would go to them immediately. It’s obvious why it was being flogged to a remaindering specialist; all of the pages are stuck together in groups of three or four. (They separate easily enough once you know that this is the case, but…) There’s way too much Wednesday Addams in me for this book to have ever been useful in my household.
Overall, this IRK lives down to its reputation; not horrible, but leaving me wondering why I do this.

What’s a chappbook? I like big oversized purses, anytime I just carry way to much shit.
@Star2236 I had to look it up, too (though I had a guess at it from the picture).
TIL it’s basically any small, cheap book. The originals were of a particular type/style (typically one sheet of paper folded into 8-24 pages), but the current meaning is much more flexible.

@Lynnerizer @Star2236 @xobzoo Typical current usage of “chapbook” applies it to books that have pages which are very thick, like tagboard or heavier, intended for use with toddlers who still have a tendency to chew on everything. The pages are often coated to make them water-resistant. The coating is what was sticking together on these, but they separated relatively easily.

@Lynnerizer @Star2236 @xobzoo Yep. I’ve heard the two names used interchangeably, though I think “board book” is probably more accurate. The other term probably got applied because they never have very many pages. I’ve run into somebody who had the misapprehension that it was an abbreviation of “chapter book”, a term that I had not encountered before, and it’s easy to see how they’d be confused.

@Kyeh Have to see how long this “popcorn for dessert” lasts-although we have had several popcorn makers over our 50 years of marriage, this is a new toy and we will see how long making some after dinner lasts. She already made a comment about have to clean it which she didn’t have to do with our last popcorn popper which was a hot air one. I give it a week or less.

@rileyper From what I can see from online images it looks like the power cord is just like a standard 3-prong computer cord. If you have an extra laying around it should work. Or, just borrow one from your computer to test it. Good luck!
@IndifferentDude I saw that and thought "oh, a standard equipment cord (maybe 1/3 of my lab equipment uses something similar), but I’ve used laptops almost exclusively since ~2004, so I haven’t the slightest idea what a non laptop computer power cord looks like anymore
@rinrinrin Some of the older laptop power supplies used a similar plug that went in one end of the “brick” and your laptop cord (with it’s own special plug) was attached to the other end. Might check and see if you have one like that laying around.
@rileyper I probably have twenty of those cords laying around. If you know anybody who does PC repairs or who builds their own systems, ask if they have a spare desktop power cord. Outside of the US, those are often used for all sorts of appliances.

@IndifferentDude @rileyper Desktop Macs used to use those, as does an older printer I have. Post on craigslist, facebook market or nextdoor that you need one and likely you will get one for free.
My box arrived yesterday but I wasn’t able to post until today.
Overall, a few nice things that I likely won’t use. An IRK which lives up to its name. Kota agrees:
I got a sexy (?) pink satin robe and shorts set and a black moisture wicking wifebeater. There’s also the ubiquitous red bag, a pair of strange shoes, American flag compression socks (there are teeth instead of stars) and a rangefinder.
My IRK arrived this morning. The box was ominously light, possibly hinting at immense regret (or at least dozens of trackrs) within. However…
– Red IRK bag
– One pair compression socks, size L/XL (probably too big for me)
– Key Smart Pro (not a trackr, but has Tile smart location! Might be good; I’ve only lost my keys once, but it was a huge hassle.)
– Reliable travel iron/garment steamer (had something like this 20 years ago; will be interesting to see if they work any better now); and…
– Yeti Crossroads Tote Bag 16 - looks like it might be a return, but all tags are still on (MSRP $180, wow!). I think this might become my day bag!
Overall, I’d say my streak of low-regret IRKs continues!

I snuck one last night and had pieces in the kitchen AND living room. Mom was NOT happy and had to turn on that loud sucky maching. Where does it take my napkin? It just DISAPEARS!!! I dont trust it, I think it could get me if I dont watch it very carefully!!!
And my bark is pretty loud. I have to be careful if I see people outside my fence and run up barking. Sometimes it scares them and I just want to play or get a good pet!!
@CharlieDoggo @Kidsandliz I have friends who give their very good dog Samwise cardboard boxes to tear up. It gives Sam something to do and a safe way to deal with his separation anxiety when they have to leave him alone (he had a rough start to life). And it makes the cardboard boxes fit into recycling bin. Everyone wins, especially when Sam’s people come home and make him very happy.
@CharlieDoggo - You’re right to not trust the loud sucky machine. Those things can definitely be scary and are LOUD! especially for someone with such sensitive hearing. You are a very good doggo for being careful with your loud bark. Sometimes people don’t understand good doggos who get excited and bark a lot because they want to play and be friends. Please ask your mom to give you some extra pets and belly rubs from me.

@heartny I have an Amope electric callous remover and I think it’s wonderful - the skin on my heels gets so dry and hard and it just sands it away! But maybe your feet don’t get like that.
@Kyeh I have that one too and a Remington. Also a Pedi-Vac, which is nice but a mess to clean. I think the one in the IRK may have been used, which is kind of icky.

A weird one. Looks like a super shallow toaster oven for small kitchens except the top lifts up. I tried to look up reviews and found it referenced at three stores- Home Shopping, Morningsave, and Sidedeal. Maybe it’s a made for HSN that Mercatylist got for cheap?
I guess I’ll keep it for a while in the box.

Originally set for delivery early last week, my IRK has gone from Texas to Tennessee to Kentucky to Indiana to Wisconsin prior to its final destination of Iowa. Is it out campaigning before the election tomorrow?

@tofarber mine has gone from Texas to Alabama, to Georgia, all the way up to Connecticut and still hadn’t made its way south to Florida. It’s on a national tour of regret. It was so close a week ago when the ETA was last Thursday. Im sure it’ll get delayed again with the tropical storm / Hurricane off the shore comming this weekend.

Well, I for one find the IRK I received to be far below “meh.” This is easily the most disappointing one I’ve ever received; it’s the first time there hasn’t been a single item of interest to me (not counting the bag).
I’ve gotten a couple good IRKs over the years and I still come out way ahead regarding value versus cost, but the last two or three have been pretty weak. I’m really debating whether I want to keep buying these (and that’s the biggest bummer of it all).
@Bretterson I should say none of the items were of interest nor did they have any entertainment value. At least I was amused when I received like 12 pairs of knock-off youth Crocs.
@Bretterson The diffuser is entertaining. It would entertain me anyway. Looks like it even has fun oils in there.
@sammydog01 Looks like it includes peppermint, lavender, and eucalyptus.
I’m very reluctant to try it. Partly because incense makes me nauseous and I don’t need more of that in my life and partly because I’m not sure it even interests me.

@tinamarie1974. That article says that liquid essential oils are bad for pets, as in don’t rub it on your cat. (Because that’s a thing apparently.). And that with the possible exception of birds using them in a diffuser is OK unless your pet has breathing problems.

I’d be happy with the tens unit, I’ve been wanting to try one for a while now. I don’t think your irk is all that bad. Including the diffuser (still haven’t got one of those, seems like everybody has one from an irk)
@Star2236 Honestly, I do agree that it isn’t terrible, but my last two or three have been pretty so-so and this one doesn’t have a single thing I want or got a laugh from. I guess for me the lack of both is a buzzkill

Got mine today…a much bigger than standard box! But not very heavy.
Labeled “Foot Massage Steamer” or some such.
The box looked like it’d been through the wars…but that was probably FedEx/ my driveway (it was set in a puddle).
Inside? One pair of compression socks (men’s L/XL); two men’s XL shirts (Maybe can use one to sleep/ camp in?); a lovely red IRK bag (not stuffed with winning lottery tickets)…and the foot steamer.
Which looks…new. Reasonably well made (if rather enormous)? And has good reviews. And is currently >$100 at Walmart.
And doesn’t turn on.
So it seems to be a large, new, paperweight. True to Meh tradition, or so I’ve heard.
Am I nonetheless pestering customer service in China about it? Yes. Yes I am.

I would be too. I wouldn’t even say you got it in an irk. I once got a cuisinart personal blender (in an irk) that stopped working after a month, so I filed a warranty claim. Said I got it as a gift from a friend and they fixed it for free.

My IRK is more lost than regrettable. Went from TX to AL to GA and then for some reason all the way up to CT where it’s been sitting for since around the 3rd. Eventually it’ll head back south to FL but by then it’ll probably get delayed by the hurricane / tropical storm Nicole. ugh. waiting sucks. That’s the regret part.
It made its way now to MA (still going north and not south!) But I have a date now!!! ETA Sunday assuming it can travel the entire east coast in 3 days. LOL
After much waiting reget my IRK finally arrived from its east coast tour amd it sucks! Received a red bag, somr size M womens running pants, an electric toothbrush with 4 heads… and a cordelss stick vacuum. Not the greatest vacuum as it barley picks up cat litter but it was mew in box so not much regret.

I don’t know which model I got but mine picks up the dirt on my floor pretty good and the little spinning brush for the wall is awesome. It delogges shit even the broom misses.
