Iāve got one of these. Theyāre great. Provide the weight of a heavy blanket without making you too hot for when itās warm or temperate. Good for sensory stuff if you have autistic kids too.
OH MY GOD THEY SNUGGLED UP TO GLEN IN BED ANDā¦ PLEASURED HIMā¦ OR MAYBE JUST TOOK A NAP ITāS HARD TO TELL BECAUSE HEāS ALWAYS GRINNING LIKE A DERANGED CHESHIRE CAT!!!
I bought one of these before on meh. Not sure if this is exactly the same or not. But I like mine. It hasnāt leaked beads that I can tell. I do really like that āa blanket that hugs you backā feeling it gives.
Amazon comparison link is not comparable. It links to one with a cooling feature. Weighted blankets claiming the cooling feature are supposedly different and priced higher. Cant find any reversible ones but hereās a more comparable one based on size and weight that is priced about the same as here. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V4KW7MY
Iāve noticed that all the negative comments (not only here) are from people whoāve never tried one. I too have never tried one, and it seems silly to me, but I never see a comment saying āI bought one and hated it,ā so maybe thereās something to it, or maybe I just overlooked those comments.
A couple of weeks ago I decided to finally submit to the hype and try a weighted blanket. I got a 12lb throw blanket from Target. I really like it. It didnāt seem to have any particular relationship with my anxiety disorder, but itās just so ā¦ snuggly. I donāt think Iāll get a large one for my bed, but I really like it when Iām napping or sleeping alone.
Whether or not you buy this one, I recommend getting one that has stitched panels like this one does. My first weighted blanket didnāt have them, so all the glass beads slid to the bottom of the blanket and had to be wrangled back into place every night. I have one now with stitched squares, and I love it. Helps me fall asleep and stay asleep.
Yes, I have always enjoyed sleeping under a silky, Egyptian cotton, high thread-count comforter filled with lighter-than-air goose feathers and LEADEN WEIGHTSā¦ Seriously, the weighted blanket āthingā is incomprehensible to me. Itās just a bit Freudian, or primal, orā¦ I donāt knowā weird?
@MrNews I have anxiety and ADHD and my weighted blanket keeps me from thrashing and helps me sleep much more soundly than I ever have in my life. Guess that makes me Freudian, primal, and weird! Iām just a kinky degenerate for a good nightās sleep.
@xenarthra Iām glad it works for you! I too have anxiety (and some very weird fear-filled dreams), but a blanket like this would feel like a giant hand pinning me down. Also quite Freudianā¦ Sleep well, and use my doctorās magic spell: āAlakazam- alprazolam!ā
@MrNews@xenarthra Until you try it you donāt actually know. I sleep best in a hammock but am going to try combining this with the hammock as I like a blanket on me and my topquilt is down, so weighs nothing.
@LongIslandDad The world as we know it has three dimensions of spaceālength, width and depthāand one dimension of time. But thereās the mind-bending possibility that many more dimensions exist out there. According to string theory, one of the leading physics model of the last half century, the universe operates with 10 dimensions.
Oh, you meant the blankie? They are listed under the specs up there at the beginning of this thread.
The directions say machine wash cold but do not tumble dry. How and where does one dry something that big and what would happen if it were tumbled dried? Iām tempted.
@gaapple I own it and I shudder to think what it would do to the drum balance of the washer, let alone the dryer. (My w/d are both front-loading, so this is an ongoing struggle.) The thingās heavy dry, let alone wet!
Bought it, love it. I donāt have anxiety, but I am a big fan of a power nap, and for whatever reason this seems to be just the thing to make a 30-minute drowse reallyā¦ count. 10 / 10 would recommend and then doze off briefly.
I weighted up late, for this?
@msayler Thatās heavy, dude.
@msayler @shahnm
Yep. Pretty much covers it.
@mike808 @msayler Thatās a blanket statement.
@mike808 @msayler @shahnm quilt while youāre ahead
@mike808 @msayler @zxinfinity Iām bedding youāve got more to say, thoughā¦
@msayler @shahnm @zxinfinity
What a bunch of sheety comments.
@mike808 @msayler @shahnm @zxinfinity
Iām comforterable with this.
@mike808 @msayler @therealjrn @zxinfinity
Soā¦ duvet keep this up?
@msayler @shahnm @therealjrn @zxinfinity
Iām not particularly tied to it, but OK.
@mike808 @msayler @therealjrn @zxinfinity Well layer on then!
@msayler @shahnm @therealjrn @zxinfinity
Someone is on top of their game.
I was hoping āreversibleā meant you could flip a switch and it would float to the ceiling.
@awk If it could make you 15 lbs lighter, In for 3!

Bought these last time they sold here. Loved it, but it started shedding the glass beads everywhere. Havenāt washed it or anything.
@DVDBZN same here, found a cheap duvet cover for it and weāre back in business! Love the dang thing.
@DVDBZN @Jacobmmoore1994 If you love it so much in the words of Pee-Wee Herman, āThen why donāt you marry it?ā
@Dog19026 @DVDBZN haha, outstanding!

Meh, weāve got enough heavy stuff on us already.
Great for pillow fights!

@ParadisePete I like mine. My Brother-in-law likes his. My sister does not want to try it.
How much does this weigh, compared to say, a fukubukuro?
Just trying to get my perspective straight.

No survey today?
Specs say feet not inches
@tinkleondabeach Theyāre perfect for helping your entire house fall asleep at night
Does it make it less creepy that Glenn is on top of the sheet?
The only thing more relevant to these stressful times would be a gross of N95 masks.
I canāt think of anything except GLEN LOST HIS VIRGINITY ā¦ maybe.

I got my wife a slightly different blanket from Meh. She pretty much wonāt sleep without it now.
What size is this blanket? I have a queen sized bed.
We bought these for our 2 college age kids. Both really like them. I am willing to give it a try.
